iCash X 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Great application but missing some minor things ![]()

I'm happy to use iCash for years now. It's getting better with every update and it's worth the price. It's very simple to use and setup if the initial setup is done. And I'm sure using this application to monitor all my money has saved me more than just the price for the app. Although I'm missing still some better functions to handle stocks / currencys. It's not possible at the moment to have your stocks or currencys updated to actual values automaticly. But I'm sure that all those features missing atm willbe added in the future as support for this application is really good. [alert admin]

File Hider X 2.2 (Mac OS X)
Why even consider to try this?
if you want to hide away your 'secret' files why not just create an AES128 DMG with Apples DiskUtility? It's not only free and included in your system for years it's also secure and fast. Just doubleclick your new dmg, enter your password and work with your files as usual. You just have to unmount you image to hide everything in it. This way you can easily (and fast) handle 100000 files and several GB of data. [alert admin]

TrashLater X 4.0 (Mac OS X)
Nice idea for GUI lovers but too expensive
Although this application has some nice features it's way to expensive as all this is already build into the system for years. (Until Apple removed or complicated using some parts with their 10.4 'downgrade'). Just start learning to use the power of your shell. A simple 'cronjob' or 'at' together with 'find' could do much more for you. If you need space why not ask your shell to find all documents/files not used for time x and compress them. Or automaticly bzip2 and hide away your trash to remove it later. You can even start to create compressed applications that would still be useable while using half the space (realtime decompression into memory). It's all there for years and free. So if you need a GUI or don't won't to learn anything new buy this application. Otherwise just learn what's already build into the system. [alert admin]

Trash4BASH 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Ok it's free but why use this?
First the scripts provided here are very limited and could be dangerous due to missing argument checking. Second they even don't work here on by Mac as I have a FHS conforming 10.3.9 where bash is at /usr/bin/ and NOT /bin as provided by Apple. You should NEVER assume that a given tool or folder is where Apple installed it! And btw your del cemmand could be archived with a simple alias del='mv...' There is also a much better rmm 'command' available (for free) with support for nearly ever rm option including recursion. [alert admin]

LaunchOnTime 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I'll never try this application because it's stated to work only with 10.4+ Why on earth should an application that can be replaced with 2 simple shell commands require 10.4 if these functionality is build into OS X since 10.0???? Just have a look at www.hmug.org/man/1/at.php I could write a beautifull GUI for these tools in under 15 minutes. and this would work perfekt on every OS version. [alert admin]

X-Plane 8.50rc5 (Mac OS X)
No problems at all to install this version. It's just getting better every time. Using X-Plane for years now and never had any serios problems. But this is NOT a GAME. It's a simulator for professional users. So if you just want to 'fly' around shoting down other planes this isn't for you. But if you really want to invest some time in tweaking this application you get a real simulator. [alert admin]

I've been a VT user for years now and now decided to try the new 4.2 application but it isn't working at all. Those 'developers' working on VT even managed to add several obvious errors into VT. I'm a developer on my own for over 20 years now and a simple test of 5 minutes revealed 4 big errors. You just need to create a simple symlink Trap.app inside Applications pointing back to this folder to get VT looping forever. Contacted support a few days ago now but never received any feedback.
