Kandalu X 5.05 (Mac OS X)
I have purchased this program... twice. There was the constant failed auto updates and now... after not using the program for a while, it tells me that my version has expired. There is no way to download other than to buy which I had done again, only I never received anything. Lastly the program will not work if you have to run on 800x 600 (I know it's small, but my HDTV/Mac Mini is that). I liked the program, but have been turned off my the update frustration and not being able to use it when I needed to use it. Finally, then I clicked on buy to purchase a third time, the page it took me to did not exist. Not great in instilling confidence to get me to pay for a program a third time. [alert admin]

Records Master 6.5 (Mac OS X)
If preferences could be added to automatically open file by double clicking on it, it would save a small step of having to click on the preview icon in bottom right of windows. I also discovered that if you access the 'database' over a network using a computer without the program installed, it shows up as a folder with all the PDF files inside nicely organized. I'm liking this application more as I use it. [alert admin]

Tried this for less than an hour to realize that it would save me time. Been using it for a couple of days now and have incorporated it into my business as an efficient way of filing invoices and other misc. bills efficiently. Yes, you can do the the things this program does manually, but nearly as quickly. Nice work. Worked fine with Leopard and over a Network. [alert admin]

Kandalu X 4.02c.00 (Mac OS X)
The Auto Updates, which seem to be the only way to upgrade your paid version of the program keep failing. I have emailed the Authour twice, but have yet to hear a response. I have paid for the program and while it works, I am dissapointed by being unable to upgrade a program I paid for. I only bought this a couple of months ago. [alert admin]

iView MediaPro 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I find I keep having to go back to version 2.6.4 The 'new' features and interface make what was once a simple easy program to use more frustrating and difficult. I have left feedback about these issues over a year ago and it keeps getting worse. ie. try renaming a folder of images from name.jpg to name-th.jpg with the new version. It won't work. Was simple with the old one. Default views for slideshows can not be set and each time you want to do a quick presentation, you have to set all the resize options instead of it remembering the last setting you used. The old version still does this. I can no longer use this program in my school since it is becoming too confusing and frustrating for my students and even myself. I will use it for HTML galleries which I hope they don't try to also 'improve' I can no longer recomment this application for educators. I have tried to create a forum account on their site and am still waiting for the activation email. Fo the price, I expect a program to be getting better and easier to use, not the opposite. I have had to revert to version 2.6.4. While there have been some new features, several basic, fundamental functions have been lost making this a frustrating version to use. I have used the forums and contacted directly and after several months am giving up in despair. This has been a great program for so long, I am severely disappointed with this version. The benefits of the new features to not out way the problems doing slide presentations. Keep a copy of your old version before upgrading. The renaming feature is also less friendly. More features, but less user friendly. There are more layers to do the same thing rather than being able to do all in one window. [alert admin]

Intego VirusBarrier X4 10.4.3 (Mac OS X)
Some serious problems with crashing
I would like to be writing a positive review since I have been impressed with this program in the past. It has a slick interface and is FAST once it completes it's overall scan. I upgraded to X4 and found that it crashed constantly (upon finding a virus or corrupted file). I tried it using another machine with a freshly installed OS (10.4.4) and a recently formatted drive and got the same results. I have two large drives with actual viruses and it took me over three days to scan them both using this program due to all the crashes and having to start again. I ended up being forced to purchase Norton version 10. It may have an ugly past rep (version 9) and the interface is ugly, not to mention slow, but it found viruses X4 missed and while it may have been slower initially, it never crashed. Perhaps the issues are fixed in the last update X4 just did, but I can not click on the X4 restart button and am going to have to force quit it. Too many crashes for me. I have switched to Norton which seems to be more stable and yes, It was crashing before I installed Norton. [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Versiontracker website problems
The problem with the comment page not changing seem to also happen with FireFox. When you click on 'submit' nothing appears to happen, thought the post is made. If you wait long enough (over a minute) the page will finally change. I am seeing many, many, multiple posts and this would be the reason. Not sure if there is a better place to report these problems, but this seemed logical. [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
versiontracker website problems with Safari
The new versiontracker website does NOT appear work properly with Safari. No pop-up windows appear (even when pop-up blocker is turned off) for adding comments and such. Pretty sad for a Mac supporting site. The is also causing problems with multiple posts being submitted since the page does not change when you make a comment when using Safari. Seems to work OK with FireFox, but since many use Safari, I thought this was worth mentioning. [alert admin]

Interface and options considerations
Thanks Paul_Vail_674. Well articulated and to the point. Hopefully the developers will listen. I have hesitated from using TechTool since it destroyed my permissions on my brother's iMac making it unbootable. Found out about the Tiger incompatibility a little late. I ordered the update which took weeks to come, though they delayed to send me the newest version that came out after I ordered it. That I appreciated. I still can't decide if I should…
