VideoVangelist 2.1.5 (Mac OS X)
In a very impressive move the developer has made all of his products available for free. And I just paid for the software a couple days ago :) iVideoConverter offers way more control and functionality, but VideoVangelist is a good basic tool. [alert admin]

CoverScout 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
The product looks great, and its functionality is really cool, but the price is insane. This should be a $10-15 program. The increase in sales would easily make up for the lower price, too. [alert admin]

FontDoctor X 5.5.1 (Mac OS X)
I haven't had any problem with e-mails bouncing, they just haven't replied to my questions and request for support. I submitted a request for explanation when I realized FontDoctor was not choosing the right fonts to keep or delete. To summarize my situation, I had a font that wasn't working properly, and the same font on a different computer that works perfectly. When I ask FD to analyze and sort them out, it chooses the bad fonts to keep and tosses the good ones, leaving me with a set that's incomplete. If I hadn't watched it myself, or had been sorting out hundreds instead of just one, I would surely have missed its mistake. If a company offers tech support via e-mail, they ought to answer. It's surprising they respond in this forum as if they don't have an issue with this. I haven't tried version 5.5.2 yet, so we'll see how it goes... [alert admin]

DeKstasy 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)
a DJ program get 5 stars when it has no crossfade or pitch control? There are really no other functions that have more meaning to a DJ. [alert admin]

Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw plugin 1.0 (Mac OS X)
photographer is not going to sit here and waste time complaining about how this $99 thing should have been included with Photoshop, he's going to buy it and get on with making money faster than he could before and make up that piddly $99 in the first day he owns it. [alert admin]

Canon Remote Capture X 2.6.0 (Mac OS X)
software at hand, not what else is missing in the software bundle. Comments about PhotoStitch and Graphic Converter are irrelevant in a review about software that, as I perceive it, lets you remotely control your camera from your OS X computer. [alert admin]

Yes, you can drop a disk or folder into Portfolio. If you can't, and you're getting 36+ hour transfers, maybe you have something wrong with your computer.

Still doesn't handle invisible files
Uh, yeah, that's why this is a *bug*. The support is supposedly built in as you accurately describe, but checking the box has no effect. We still can't see invisible files.

OK, Mr. Defensive, I tried to display a tone of humor by referring to my own hypocrisy when I basically said that we as users could berate reviewers while you as the seller couldn't really do the same, but I guess that went over your head. This is a forum for talking about a product AND the company that produces it, because the latter is integrally important to the qualities of the former. It's pretty funny how…

OK, so the lesson to everyone is: don't say anything bad about Plaxo or grumpy Drew will get mad at you and belittle your statements. I for one have been interested in Plaxo for a while, and keeping tabs on the progress of the product, especially in light of the possibility of losing MobeilMe in favor of a better and less costly solution. Things have looked OK so far, although the Comcast connection is not encouraging. Drew,…
