PlistEdit Pro 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Simply no alternatives to PlistEdit Pro

If you have to deal with plists (as a programmer/developer -- as a sysadmin -- as someone who knows about the advantages of tuning your system and apps -- for troubleshooting), and you haven't worked with PlistEdit Pro yet, you should try it. The sooner the better. Feature set and quality of implementation are above average. Editing plists is fun and easy, just as it should be. For me, PlistEdit Pro's AppleScript support is very welcome, and now it even has a command line tool. Thanks, Brian, for the fantastic work. [alert admin]

iLocalize 3.1.5 (Mac OS X)

iLocalize is way ahead

Well, I don't know which problems or issues the previous poster had with iLocalize. I for my part can add the following: -- You should read the system requirements as a suggestion -- I'm working with a G4/400 PCI (Oct. 1999!), OS X 10.4.5, 1GB RAM, and I'm feeling VERY comfortable 90% of the time with iLocalize. -- Other apps may be free, but that's no argument at all. iLocalize pays for itself. The feature set is fantastic, and the user experience is so good that you do not need any documentation most of the times, even not as a beginner. -- The complexity of your projects is of minor interest. Regardless of how complex a localization project is, iLocalize is a time saver. And time is money. Period. -- The support is outstanding, the developer is responsive, friendly, and fixes bugs very quickly. -- Well, this is about software for the Mac, isn't it? iLocalize has the right look and feel. Working with it is simply fun. -- If you have to deal with only one small localization project every year, iLocalize may be not for you. iLocalize is not a toy, it's a tool. (And an impressingly good one...) To sum up -- if you need an app to work on a more professional level, there's simply no alternative to iLocalize. [alert admin]

A little odd

A little odd indeed. What exactly has a vector-based illustration app to do with GraphicConverter, in your opinion? Maybe I missed the point.

R v2.3.0 on Mac OS 10.4.6, G4 MDD

Sorry, the link to the mailing list I posted does not work -- there seems to be no *direct* access to R SIG MAC. Instead, you should enter the mailing list using the link in the Mac OS X section on CRAN.

R v2.3.0 on Mac OS 10.4.6, G4 MDD

To you and to whomever else it may concern, two links that are generally helpful: (1) There is a mailing list for R for Mac OS X. Simon Urbanek, one of the developers of the Mac OS X distribution and the GUI R.app, is very active there. https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-sig-mac/ (2) The R for Mac OS X developers maintain their own site with nightly builds. http://r.research.att.com/ Here you can find not only current builds of the whole R…
