I think the guy who gave 2 stars below is crazy. This is the best Mac screensaver in years! Kudos to the developer. What I especially appreciate is despite that fact that a lot is going on on-screen, Space Wars is not a CPU hog. I hate it when a pretty screensaver uses so much processing power that my PowerBook G4's fan has to spin up (the main drawback with Marine Aquarium, among others). The computer is supposed to be resting, for crying out loud! [alert admin]

Ulysses 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)

I agree with last message  

Yes, Ulysses is pretty expensive (though less so for academics) -- but it has improved my writing productivity immensely. For me, it's better by a wide margin than the similar products out there. Compare the demos, and see if you still think that the cheapies are more worth your time. [alert admin]

Cool app -- a dream come true for a real soccer fan. Looks pretty stable so far. The "Read Me" is very helpful, I found, in helping with a slightly non-intuitive interface. This one is going in my Dock! [alert admin]

FrenchTVNews 1.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Great!  

Just downloaded and played with this app for 30 minutes, and it looks great! As a previous poster says, a couple of the channels don't work properly, but that's no big deal. One caveat (and message to the programmers): trying to play some of the TSR broadcasts did send my PowerBook G4 (running Panther) into an inescapable crash. Isn't that pretty hard to do?
