Letterbox 0.24b4 (Mac OS X)
Hi, just letting you guys know that Letterbox 0.24b5 is out there! Here is a link: http://harnly.net/projects/letterbox/downloads/Letterbox-v0.24b5.zip What's new in this version? -Updates Letterbox for the impending arrival of 10.6.2. -Adds an extremely simplistic two-line view. Developer comment: I’d like to make it more customizable, and support including dates within the column, but not at the expense of simplicity, stability, and speed. So we’ll see how it goes. Still a manual install to keep out the unadventurous. Greets [alert admin]

Letterbox 0.22 (Mac OS X)
I'm very happy to say that this great 'mailplugin' also works fine on PPC Macs!!! I've just installed version 0.22, since I'm running Mac OS 10.5 on a PowerMac G5. -Installation on PPC Mac running 10.5 without any problems! -First launch of the Mail app and everything works just fine! -Preferences are all working! -Auto Update works also! -In short, everything works just fine like it should be! On both architectures :-) ... To the developer: Could you please correct the requirements from Intel to PPC/Intel. You've made a lot of PPC users very happy with this mailplugin!!! I'll write a complete 'review' when I used the plugin a couple of months. But for now 5 stars!!! With kind regards. SIMBL 0.9.6c (Mac OS X)
Seems to work & install just fine on PPC Macs. Everything is Universal.
- So why does it say in the 'Operating System Requirements':
-
This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
Mac OS X 10.5 Intel

FrontTV 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Indeed a very nice idea!!! But why limit this to 10.5 & Intel only? EyeTV runs at PPC and Intel and supports 10.4 & 10.5. The least you can do is support the latest EyeTV requirements. Or am I asking too much here? I've just downloaded the code (thanks for the link at your homepage) and I'm going to try building a Universal app which is compatible with 10.4 and PPC. I can't say for sure if this will work but it can't be to hard changing the code? With kind regards. [alert admin]

NeoOffice 3.0 Patch 7 (Mac OS X)
Yesterday I tried to patch NeoOffice, which is by the way a very good program and I use it a lot, and the patch failed to update. It was patch 6. Then I installed version 3.0 from scratch, because patch 6 messed up the program, and I was getting a message that patch 7 was out. So there was something wrong with patch 6 like I've thought and experianced... Anyway, I installed patch 7 with succes and now NeoOffice (patched to 7) crashes almost all the time on startup... Sometimes the program starts normal after 6 or 7 crashes and works normal? I believe this patch 7 is a quick fix for patch 6 and that a patch 8 will follow very soon because something is wrong with the last two patches (6 and 7). So for the moment I installed a clean 3.0 again (works like a charme on 10.5.8) and I'm waiting for patch 8. Again, NeoOffice is one the programs I'm often use and Iove it!!! So 5 stars from me!!! It's always possible that something is going wrong during an update, we are only humans and we all make mistakes ;-). So no harm done, I'm still a big fan of the NeoOffice Project and all the great developers!!! Thanks a lot for the effort, the great program, etc. !!! Greets. [alert admin]

BOINC 6.6.29 (Mac OS X)
PPC 64 Bit support on Leopard...
Why is it so hard to build a PPC 64 bit Client for Mac OS X Leopard? Can anyone give me a reasonable answer to that question? Thanks. [alert admin]

Transmission 1.61 (Mac OS X)
Older versions from Transmission for Pre Leopard Macs...
@libertyforall1776: I understand what you mean! In the latest versions from Transmission the Developers decided to add Leopard technology. Just to be clear, I also understand the developers! At some point you choose to integrate new technology, which is in this case Leopard only, and to mature the program or to follow the pad of natural evolution you've planned for this great program. I have a few Macs which are running Leopard. I also have older Macs, which are still in very good shape and which are running on a daily base, not capable to run Leopard. I solved this issue with previous versions from Transmission, which are all stored on a server! That is a great service almost unique for this application! Thanks to the guys who are running this server (I think they are the developers from Transmission, but I'm not sure)!!! Here is the link where you can find "every" version between 2007 and today: http://transmission.xpjets.com/OLD/ I realy hope this information will help you to keep running Transmisson, which is a fantastic program, on your Pre Leopard Macs (like in my case). With regards. [alert admin]

BOINC 6.6.20 (Mac OS X)
Are there any plans for a 64 bits version? Most OS X processors are 64 bits (G5 & Intel). Greetz. [alert admin]

Mac-users? I guess you mean Intel users! I prefer Flash! Not because I hate Microsoft but because Flash runs on all my Macs! Two of them are still PowerMacs (very fast ones with large amounts of RAM and state of the art videocards. Do I need to say more... And don't tell me to move on! I already bought 4 Intel Macs the last year and a half!!! Very expensive ones!!! With regards.

Latest version on my Mac is 4.3.4?
Stupid me ;). Thank you! I thought the Tiger version was using the 3.8.x format and that only the Leopard version was using the 4.3.x format! Anyway, next time I realy need to read the requirements before I write a comment ;). Greetz & sorry for this comment.

This update should fix the issue in Boot Camp, also for the NVIDIA iMacs! When you check Apples website you will read that the requirements are 10.5.6 or later. Not 10.5.6 or later with the Radeon card! Anyway, the firmware installer is "smart" and will not install when it's not needed! Greetz.

Great alternative to Photoshop
About Pixelmator, it's also PPC & Intel compatible! I understand why developers are moving to Intel only software, even when I think it's going too fast sometimes (but that's a personal opinion). There are still a lot of PPC users in the graphical sector. That's why I think, at least in some software branches, it's going too fast. To bad that one of the better Open Source programs, like Gimp, went Intel so fast. We have 5 Macs…

Integration with Google Earth is not working here ... I wonder if the 2 apps must be in the Application folder for integration.
