SiteSucker 2.2.4 (Mac OS X)
I've used SiteSucker for over a year and unless the website has blocked it, it's worked without flaw. There have been times I've had to "hack" the site, but SiteSucker does it's job unless I fail to do mine. Great application! [alert admin]

SMARTReporter 2.1.5 (Mac OS X)
I tried multiple times to send a test email, but SMARTReporter kept claiming I had not set up an email address for delivery...which was wrong. I tried two different mail servers and three different delivery addresses. I also tried using Mail.app settings with the same results...doesn't work. I finally gave up and deleted the app. If setting up mail is this buggy, I don't think I'm willing to trust the rest of it. MAC OS X v10.4.5 on eMac. In concept, it sounds good. [alert admin]

TechTool Pro 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
It fixed what DiskWarrior could not...... ![]()

After trying several times to rebuild my Directory with DiskWarrior 3 (DW3) and receiving an error each time, warning me that an error had occured and I should back up my files...., I tried TechTool Pro 4 (TTP4).
TTP4 ran every test without so much as a raised eyebrow. It then repaired the Directory with ease.
Just to be sure that no tricks were being played (various utilities use different methods of addressing various problems and one method may report an error that a different method will not), I then tried DW3 as a double-check to see if the error was indeed gone.....it was.
Conclusion: TTP4 repaired a Directory that DW3 could not. It also addressed and corrected whatever problem was causing DW3 to get an error.
All repairs were performed while booted from CD with both DiskWarrior 3 and TechTool Pro 4----NOTE: I've seen some comments about the lengthly boot up time from CD. This is due to the need of OS X to establish a ram disk for scratch purposes and is not due to any utility being poorly coded. Both DW3 and TTP4 take a very long time to boot because that is what OS X requires at this time. Perhaps in the future, coding will be created that corrects this.
- In the meantime, don't penalize a utility for an OS requirement.
If your budget limits you to only one heavy duty repair utility, TechTool Pro 4 is a good investment.

POPmonitor 2.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
A must have product....especially if you have children
POPmonitor is a great product that actually permits you to access and control your email without first loading it onto your machine. This prevents hostile spammers from using script to confirm their trash was delivered. You can even bounce the stuff from your server if you want to. POPmonitor is one sweet product that takes Apple Mail filters a few steps further. As for children...Two steps is all it takes to insure they never get another spam unless it comes from a trusted sender. First, set up a filter that automatically deletes any message that does not have their actual name (or a special phrase of your choosing). This will allow others to send you an email that contains the required name or phrase so you can add them to your trusted senders without typing it in. Second, make sure the trusted list is up to date and accurate. Trusted senders are not subjected to any other filter, so they get through no matter what, anyone else sending a message MUST include the special requirement you have established in your child's filters. If it's not there, the message is never seen. I've been running POPmonitor for over a year and my two children have not ever gotten a single spam nor even the subject line of a spam. POPmonitor deletes it from the server without them ever seeing it. SWEET!!! :) For adults, this measure might be a bit drastic, but for young ones, it is very desirable. [alert admin]

It'll work if you stop making a mountain out of a molehill. Turn off all those bells and whistles. Per your own post, it worked ok until you added those "features". Get back to the basics, don't be greedy, and let the App. work.

An unknown error could be an error generated on the SERVER end. There is little a CLIENT developer can do to address this. Even if the error is "known", if the error is generated, and prevents a last second snipe, that is the price you pay for playing the snipe game. Heck, I've had "unknown error" problems during everyday, routine bidding and if I compress it to where 1000 people are submitting bids in a…
