PDFCat 1.5 (Mac OS X)
This scans the tags of a pdf file. Probably took 20 min to write and build start to finish. Can't handle compressed PDFs. Total trash. Don't waste time [alert admin]

Final Countdown 1.7 (Mac OS X)
I've tried every single timer app listed in versiontracker and eliminated them one by one. This is the best for a repeat timer (like reminding to take a brake). Has multiple timers, option to repeat/start automatically, puts a control in the menu bar for each timer, and gets your attention when the time is up, even if the app is hidden. Its surprising how many timers fall short in this last area. Recommendations: I have to agree with the previous comments about the interface. This is a cocoa document based app and each document is a separate timer, requiring a document to be open for each timer running. There has to be a way around this, or at least include a control to toggle the document's visibility so the desktop doesn't get cluttered when Final Countdown is in the foreground? Its also kind of easy to accidentally change a timer. How about a lock? Thes controls could be located in the "Timers" window. Also, Its too easy to close a timer by closing the document. How about a confirmation if the timer is running? Or a dialog asking if the user just want to hide/lock it? Also, each document gets its own icon in the menu bar. This is also clunky. How about one icon that shows the status of every open timer? Also, and this is really nitpicking, but maybe add transparency to the background of the menu bar icon? Either way, I'm giving it five stars for being the current best. [alert admin]

BattleZone 0.8 (Mac OS X)
This game is off to a good start, but it needs a few things: 1. red-green stereo (some kind of stereo) 2. full screen mode or resizable window 3. something to keep your pointer from wandering off the playing area (see 2) But other than thit, its good stuff.[alert admin]

User interface is unintuitive. How can something so simple in concept be impossible to make work right. Tried everything. For good programs there should be no need to RTFM. I've seen many things that needed no RTFM. Plus, never got it save a custom folder. Just got "DEMO" and blank icon. DO NOT PAY MONEY FOR THIS TRASH!!!!! People who write software should spend a little time making at work. $0.01 is too much for this. Make your demo work and then maybe people will buy. Don't try to be cutsie. For an example of good software, see graphic converter. Iconeer is pure poo. [alert admin]

EnzymeX 1.1 (Mac OS X)
this program less than 5 stars has personal issues. This is a one of a kind honey. SilverFish and michael b are dead on. I propose fasta input + digestion of "Available Enzymes". Also, needs Promega and Gibco/Invitrogen buffer systems in the tabs. [alert admin]

see this classic ported to OS X, carbonized though it is. I've used this one for many years under OS 7-9 and I'm very happy to see it available now form my favorite operating system. [alert admin]

GLterm 1.1 (Mac OS X)
4 stars because its a screamer with text rendering (geforce2mx) and starts up fast. Of course I've only been using it for 90 seconds. It looks like it will replace terminal for quickie sessions but not x-windows for real work. BusError, if you read this, the perfect terminal application will have focus follows mouse and support for three button copy-paste, just like x-windows. I still can't stand click-select-copy-click-click-paste. This is a mac drag. Real unix users need select-paste (notice 2 steps versus 5?). That's hardcore, not the "looser-friendly" way to do it that mac has forced us to do. [alert admin]
