Amazing Slow Downer 2.7.1 (Mac OS X)
I own a lot of unused music programs...this is NOT one of them. As a guitarist and as a transcriber, this is the most useful tool I've used. It slows down passages cleanly, and has the most intuitive interface for looping a passage I've seen... This is useful for rehearsing, for learning passages, and for transcribing. Also, the pitch shifting capability give me the ability to preview what songs sound like transposed. Larry J [alert admin]

System OS X2.8 which requires a small utility to be installed which is very easy. This utility is simple to configure and use. It supplied the missing ingredients we needed to display announcements before meetings...timed slides and looping the slide show. L a r r Y <°)))>< [alert admin]

The demo version read my card two different ways, is able to see all the pics on a card that somehow was corrupted (son's wedding pics) and asked if I wanted to create a backup image file which later the paid version can read. I placed the corrupted card in a reader, and it found it and read it. The 'helps' were useful in knowing how to configure the expert mode. I experimented with the card three times, and the expert manual mode found 5 or 6 pics that the other method did not see. This is a fine piece of work... [alert admin]

Take these tuners up a notch - please...
Please tuner builders...My guitar students need a tuner not ear training exercises. The Perfect Pitch software tuner (freeware) simulates an actual tuner. So can yours. The bar has been raised by Perfect Pitch, and, as a guitarist, I am hoping some of you musical software developers will turn out real time tuners which include alternate tuning features, adjustable sensitivity, and possibly even a strobe tuner simulator. VueScan 7.6.69 (Mac OS X)
I have used VueScan on three different systems now. Just switched to OS X.2.8 after having been on 9.2.2. I have used Macs since the system was called System (no number). Ed helped me recover my serial number and I downloaded the latest and hooked it to my firewire scanner, and it is awesome! Five minutes configuration and it is a marvel! Thanks Ed... I have used this for quite a while on a PowerBook G3 400 and it was a hard worker, and a good friend. It seems to work better on OS X...(see former note on formatting cards). I would have given it 5 stars on every part, but nowhere in the docs did I ever find reference to re-formatting cards or freezing systems. I can't believe my system is the only one that ever exhibited the problem. I love this little baby. \o/ L a r r y J \ [alert admin]

May need to re-format your Smart Media Card
I own several SM cards, and three Olympus cameras. When I first installed the patch and tried to run it (OS X.2.8) it would show up on the desktop and freeze the computer. After experimenting with different combos I realized it always froze on the same SM card. I dumped it's contents to another computer and the reformatted it, shot some pics and it is working fine now. I remembered just inserting the card into my camera when it was new and not formatting it, just started using it. From now on, I will make periodic reformatting a regular part of my maintenance proceedures. \o/ L a r r y J \ [alert admin]

Thanks for a straightforward tuner and alternate tunings. Thanks for also allowing people to create and store their own tunings. [alert admin]
