Rapido es Magnifico

Contrary to another review in this list, RapidoSMTP DOES work on MacOSX 10.4.9+. This machine is a MacPro Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz with Mac OS X 10.4.10 (8R2210) and Darwin 8.10.1. There WAS a problem with PORT 25 - I moved things over to PORT 587 - and opened same in the firewall (not sure if that was really necessary) and am successfully sending eMail with impugnity. In my sendMail class I used "localhost." (notice period at end of string) and had no problems except for the fact that mail sent to ME at an external eMail address did not seem to make it all the way to that inbox. It may be that my ISP is thwarting the issuance of mail from MY computer to MY smtp conduit as a SPAM prevention measure. I need to contact them and ask if they can help me understand the current behavior. The USER INTERFACE is attractive. It seemed like I had to reboot my system about 4 times as I went through the various INSTALL-REMOVE-CHANGE_PORT-INSTALL but then that's a MacOS EXTENSIONS feature where the existence of root-level extensions are not considered except at boot time. Frankly, I am VERY happy to be able to make use of the MAIL facilities in my system as it lets me test Java software that is intended to run on a Linux system with no other modifications or special cased treatment needed to be performed. If I HAD to provide some UI feedback, the ability to TEST the possibility of port 25 presenting a problem could be included up front so you did not have to go thru numerous reboot-cycles in search of something that would work. Also the question of what one might need to do with their firewall could be clarified in a single sentence. Thanks VERY much to the App4Mac people for doing such a nice job with this FREEWARE! It was my good fortune to come here and find out about it. Best Wishes, Lance Drake [alert admin]

CubeMovie HD 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Coller than the underside of a pillow

CubeMovie has come along way - the interface is slick, intuitive, simple, and now supports more different canvas configs like HD and 16:9. I've had nothing but good times with this VERY useful and snazzy addition to my movie creation tools and it's output works great in webpages, as well. Congrats to the original conceptualizers - then even MORE congrats to the guys who have made it even more atractive and easy to use. The effects are really well executed and the overall visual interest created by the rotating cube is always high. This is alot of good work done by some especially bright people. It's such a joy to let them do the heavy lifting while I get to enjoy the benefits of their work. Well I gotta go now and click on the 5- stars buttons. [alert admin]

Saints be praised!

What a really nice thing to happen to my Mac - Gone is the aesthetic equivalent of bell-bottom trousers - now life has become simpler and more beautiful with 'WhiteOut' - Where do I 'donate'? [alert admin]

Four Variables 1.0 (Mac OS 9)

Is the downloading…

package missing the needed/intended documentation? What a nice idea - an idea that needs to be supported with a little documentation so parents of 5-9 year olds can help promote why it would be good to use this app, what it does, how to use it, etc. Maybe I missed the point, but - after download - an app's icon showed up on my desktop and that was it. The idea of math apps is great. This user-interface looks very clean - I just had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. [alert admin]

Adobe GoLive 6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

ME: GoLive Owner…

and Big Fan NOTE: This module fixes two crash situations QUESTION: What is it with the crashing? for a major league app, this seems odd. OPINION: GoLive is best-of-breed. As a web designer supporting several small and large clients, GoLive makes it all possible. Close tie-in with ImageReady saves HOURS with auto handling of sliced art. [alert admin]

Angle Fireworks 1.0 (Mac OS 9)

Even though I'm…

not in 4th grade... I got it! Perhaps next version will let me type in the value. Nice idea and nice, clean, Mac friendly implementation. [alert admin]
