D-Vision 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

re: Could use a couple adjustments

Well it could use a bit of work. It only works with most DVD titles and it doesn't support many different types of video sizes namly its missing a couple 3:2 and 1.85:1. It should also support the new xvid features for cartoon(animated) moives to allow for better compression. Its got a decent interface and works well enough for most things thou. I still can't get it to extract subtitles from a .vob file with subtitles in them only a pure vieo_ts folder seemes to work with that for some odd reason. [alert admin]

djoPlayer 3.5 (Mac OS X)

Awful Interface

Well it interface wasn't really made very wellsuppoting very very few of mplayers real features. There was no way to manually add an extra audio file from the interface nor add a subtitle file from the interface. It was also missing quite a few other features such as a playlist, a get info window about the movie, a statsistics window about fps % of cpu used etc.., and no ability to manually add your own swtiches to the command line as need be. As well he didn't use standard interface calls because it doesn't look proper unless you run it in aqua and that's just because of lazy programming. Overall i Give this an F--. But its passable if you aren't doing anything other then just watching a video but quicktime can do that. Mplayer OSX 2 is better and its buggy. Atleast from the command line you dont have to deal with this crap. But its good and stable and plays videos well because its mplayer and its free so i can't really complain yet. [alert admin]

CutX for Safari 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Not as good as Pith Helmet

It has a very basic interface doesn't have all the nice fancy options like pith helmet does its alright. It may be good for beginners not really all that great for anyone who knows what they are doing. Also add in add blocking to make this app better. $20 is kinda high for shareware that is just a basic content firewall. [alert admin]

Live Deskpicture X 3.0b14 (Mac OS X)

Its slow it…

doesn't work on lots of different display sizes (mostly the larger ones) you need to have an application open to make the desktop changed (totaly lame). and the picture looks ugly. You can download much nicer pictures for free. [alert admin]
