Atlantis 0.9.0 (Mac OS X)
The UI is beautiful, and I like how flexible the app is. However, I generally won't touch a MU* client that doesn't support auto-logging. [alert admin]

aMule 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)
This is certainly not an app for the new user. One must do a little research to see how it works, which leads to the discovery you have to supply a link for the app to pull down a server list. Overall, the results of searching are fairly robust. However, I've not done much downloading yet, so I'm not rating the app. it does still have a few bugs, as well, including difficulty closing searches once you're done with them. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.5 (Mac OS X)
Overall, the OS seems to be working as usual. Glad they fixed the audio and PNG bugs, though. Now, the sound doesn't cut off if I put my Powerbook to sleep with headphones plugged in, and the Map In Motion on weather.com plays properly. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.0rc1 (Mac OS X)
Slight bugs, but otherwise excellent. ![]()

Some slight JavaScript bugs still plague 5.0, notably the website ENWorld.org loses menu functions. Since it's UBB based, I wonder if that's happening on other UBB webboards.
Otherwsie, this is an excellent product. Fast, stable and with lots of useful features. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.0 beta 7 (Mac OS X)
I'll have to echo the sentiments of other posters here. Beta 7 has finally made OmniWeb 5 stable enough to be my everyday browser. Plus, the extra menubar options are quite nice. If the final version is as stable as this, I'll certainly be buying a license! [alert admin]

Windows Media Player 9.0 (Mac OS X)
Version 9 finally comes up to speed, it seems. I can now play WMP9 files, and they seem to work rather smoothly. I still have problems when attempting to move the slider ahead in the video. The sound starts playing rather quickly, but the video does not pick up at the new point for several seconds (though it stays synced with the sound). So, better than it was, but still a slight bug. Oh, and the interface has been tweaked to have a much nicer brushed metal look than the previous Aqua look. Overall, it's a must-have upgrade if you want to handle Windows Media files. [alert admin]

This is well worth the price! Especially since I purchased it when Amazon was running a mail-in rebate. ;) This is much easier to use than its big brother, and features many helpful hints for the average user. I was saving a picture to use as an avatar for web forums, and it automatically walked me through creating a GIF file best suited for my needs in one dialog box. Perfect! [alert admin]

Morse Mania X 2.3.4 (Mac OS X)
read from Simpletext files, rather than the Plain Text files that Textedit creates. Otherwise, it seems to do a good job. [alert admin]

iSiloX 3.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
program for reading web sites on your Palm handheld. If they could add RSS/XML support, this would get 5 stars and my registration money in a heartbeat! :) [alert admin]

Then use Filevault to encrypt your home directory. It's not the app-maker's fault you don't have your files secured.

Note that the program is meant for connections which already get at least 5 Megabits per second, instead of the 3.5 you're getting.

That's pretty much the standard with Firefox. New versions mean all your extensions and themes need to be updated to make sure they work. Otherwise, those extensions could cause major problems with the new version, so disabling them is safer.

Managing Passwords via Keychain Access? ![]()

Likely not. The Firefox team is trying to keep it as portable as possible. While some things will be localized (version 1.1 should feature native buttons), the password system is something they'll probably want to keep the same on all platforms. Camino supports the Keychain, but cuts out a bunch of other FF features, so it's a compromise.

Considering I just received three different distros of Ubuntu in the mail this week, without paying for them, I'd say you need to reevaluate your statement.

Apparently, their server is not set up to recognize what a .sitx file is, so it treats it as raw text. Just right-click or Control-click the download link above, and select "Download Linked File As..."

GameRanger doesn't fully install until you launch it for the first time and connect to their server. That's when it downloads what's left to install, including the latest executable.

Yahoo! can't add voice to the Mac version, because the PC version uses Windows-only software for its audio feature. Until they change to a cross-platform audio solution, we're plainly screwed. :(
