x4macosfotog's "review" seems… 
a bit paranoid. Silverfast costs substantially more than Vuescan, which probably accounts for the diffference in the number of people reviewing each product. The only problem I've had with this version so far was getting it serialized; but Lasersoft responded fairly quickly (considering I e-mailed them over the Thanksgiving holiday) with a serial # that worked. I've been using it with PS 7, OS 10.2.2 and a Sprintscan 4000 . [alert admin]
