Pangea Arcade 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Pangea makes great games, and these latest look incredible. I just find it hard to spend $20 on games that are essentially 25 years old. In my opinion $10 is more of a fair price for these games. [alert admin]

iRatchet 1.45 (Mac OS X)
I've tried them all and settled on iRatchet. I've been been a registered user of iRatchet now for a few months now. I use it on a daily basis and I've become very familiar with its strengths and weaknesses. EASE OF USE: 5/5 iRatchet just makes sense. I was up and running making invoices and tracking projects in under 5 minutes from my first launch. The interface is clean and thoughtfully designed. Projects follow a logical workflow that helps keeps thing in order. iRatchet integrates with iCal seamlessly to help keep track of invoices that are past due and projects that need attention. It's also very simple to import clients from Address Book. iRatchet even has the option to make auto-backups to prevent data loss. SUPPORT / DOCUMENTATION: 5/5 The developer is extremely committed to this product as evidenced by his instantaneous replies to tech support questions both via email and his user forum. If a bug is reported there is a new version released with a fix in a matter of days. Try getting that kind of support from Intuit. The documentation could be a little better but the speed most questions are responded to more than makes up for it. FEATURES: 4/5 This is the only area that needs improvement. iRatchet does a fantastic job of tracking projects and creating invoices but it lacks reporting features. The ability to show income, taxes due, product sales per category etc. would make The developer has indicated reporting will be added soon. QUALITY / STABILITY: 5/5 iRatchet has never crashed on me. Any minor issues I have had with the program were cleared up within hours of reporting them to the developer. PRICE: 5/5 Under $50 for an elegant, easy to use application that makes managing your business a snap. It pays for itself in no time. [alert admin]

SuperDuper! 2.1 (Mac OS X)
SuperDuper is fantastic. The program recently saved my butt after I had a hard drive failure. I was up and running with an exact duplicate of my system in under 3 hours. It also saved me a 3 days worth of work that would otherwise have been lost. I contacted SuperDuper support and they were kind enough to help me through the recovery procress. It's never been easier to protect your critical data. Set it to do a daily backup when you are away from your computer and it just works. Incredible program. Incredible support. Incredible price. One of the best purchases I ever made. [alert admin]

Pickup Words 1.0 (Mac OS X)
The graphics are OK but the game play leaves a lot to be desired. Also the demo is timed-based and doesn't give you much time to actually get into the game. [alert admin]

Namely 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Namely 2 is great. It's a beatifully simple application that makes life so much easier. Thanks. I agree with others in that the option to disable the dock icon would be a nice addition. [alert admin]

Image-Puzzle 1.1 (Mac OS X)
It doesn't give you an option to select the location of your iPhoto Album leaving it useless to anyone with multiple iPhoto Libraries. [alert admin]

iRatchet 1.06 (Mac OS X)
iRachet is a promising time-tracking/billing/invoicing program off to a great start. With some tweaking it could become the program of choice for Mac-based small business owners.
Things I like:
- The iCal integration is great. I love how it automatically places events in iCal for projects and payments. Very nice!
- While I don’t use this feature, the mileage tracker could be quite useful to many businesses. There isn’t a competing program out there that offers this feature that I am aware of. I also like the way iRachet gets the mileage from your office to your client’s doorstep.
- The developer is friendly and very quick to reply to questions.
Things I don’t like or need improvement:
- There seems to be a bug when entering a price in the “Manage Charges” window. If I highlight the cost and try to enter a price the value only increases by 1 cent. I’ve contacted the developer and he is working on a fix.
- I’m not big on the interface, especially the way projects are listed. If you have a relatively large list of clients and projects there could be a lot of scrolling involved to find the right listing. I’d like to see the hourly and fixed project items put into one window with an icon differentiating the two. With the space gained by doing that you could put a list of all projects for the client.
- This is a minor thing but I think the project timer menu item should not have movement. It distracts the eye while I am trying to work.
Considering this is still a 1.0 release and it already offers so many positives, iRatchet is definitely one to watch. [alert admin]

Dashboard is not free, it ships as part of Mac OS 10.4 which costs over $100. $13 is not a lot to spend on software that you find useful. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into making good software. If the developer wants to charge a nominal fee that's their perogative.

Yep, it looks like Tobias is affiliated with LinoType, and he spends time reading user reviews of his product so he can make the product better and correct ill-informed consumers. Somehow you think this is a bad thing? It only makes me want to use FEX more to know the developer cares enough to answer questions and help customers to such an extent with a FREE product.

Hardly flawed because you don't know how to use it. You can have your data stored anywhere you like. My data file is in my home folder and it works perfectly. I bet if you asked the developer he would be glad to help you out. He has alway been fast and courteous with my questions. Give that a shot before you bash the software.

I had the same problem with a Sawtooth G4 and an eMac. Changing permissions worked for me too in both cases. Thanks for the tip!
