SilverFast Ai STUDIO 6.5r3 (Mac OS X)

SilverFast 6.5 Upgrade

SilverFast 6.5 UPGRADE & our Company policy

Dear Users,

first of all regarding our Update policy, I would like you to look at the fact that we have supplied for over 4 years more than 169 free updates (from V6.0 to 6.4.9) with numerous features that we have supplied for free! LaserSoft Imaging certainly represents a rare exception in the software industry today to give such a big amount of development to customers for free. Nevertheless we have to pay high quality scientists and engineers and without them we would not be the leading scanner software developer in the world!!!

Already with SilverFast 5.5 when we delivered the new NegaFix function, we explained the difference between an UPDATE and an UPGRADE and that we regard 5.5 as a major revision (as also ADOBE did). Here now we have a major revision with powerful new features (after 169 free updates). So look at what we have delivered in reality and not at the semantics, instead compare what was regarded previously the best scanner software, LinoColor, which has had a price of over 2500 US$, while in the meantime SilverFast is regarded as so much more powerful and productive than LinoColor at a fraction of the price!

Think about why SilverFast is the only software that is bundled by so many scanner manufacturers world-wide? Devide the UPGRADE fee by all the features we have delivered since V6 over the time of 4 years - how many upgrades did ADOBE have and what have they charged!!!

So, I am sure you will agree that you want us to continue to make relevant inventions and develop powerful features, which is only possible with high quality developers, which only stay in a company with reasonable salaries.

So, I hope everyone can see the relationship and value of UPGRADES and the necessity for fees at certain times to deliver great software!

SilverFast Multi-Exposure represents a unique and outstanding value since there was never in the publishing history such an increase in quality (caused by the dynamic range increase) as with this upgrade!

best regards
yours sincerely

SilverFast DC-Virtual Light Table 6.0.2d37 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

If you could only read! DCPro is for Raw / DC-VLT for 24 bit

It reads very clear in the specs that: SilverFast DC-VLT is for 24 for bit data One day ago we have published on Version Tracker: SilverFast DCPro which is for RAW data! All this information is clearly readable on our web site and in the description published on VersionTracker. Here are the links to both versions again: SF DC Pro: http://www.silverfast.com/show/silverfast-dcpro/en.html SF DC-VLT: http://www.silverfast.com/show/silverfast-dc-vlt/en.html [alert admin]

ocd, who does…

pay you to write your unqualified comments for almost 10 different scanners running with SilverFast, that you can never all have!!!By the way, doesn't ocd stand for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder? [alert admin]

SilverFast Ai Linotype 6.0.2d08 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

ocd has published…

his primitive comments under so many different scanners with regard to SilverFast, disqualifying himself clearly, since nobody is using so many scanners which are all alike. [alert admin]

SilverFast Ai Epson Perfection 3200 6.0.2d08 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

TWAIN is obviously…

not understood. It is only for inferiour applications with no 2-way communication with the host (the application) With TWAIN the Plug-in does not know about settings inside the host. That is why the Photoshop plug-in technology or our stand-alone only supply predictable colour. TWAIN has mainly been invented because manufacturers did not know better! My advice: Do not use TWAIN since TWAIN is PAIN! [alert admin]

SilverFast has many different versions!

SilverFast is not just a generic driver, instead it is a totally different piece of software for each scanner with similar user interface
You should be grateful instead that we do not just post a generic driver. Instead SilverFast is professional scan software, where every version for a different scanner is dedicated to that scanner and quite some engineering esearch has been put into each individual development.
That is why we got comments such: SilverFast brings…

SilverFast Ai only a Scanner Driver?

You must have totally overlooked the fact that SilverFast Ai is not just a scanner driver. It is a full featured high-end application such as Linocolor was. Think about that LinoColor was several thousand dollar software. SilverFast Ai is production software more powerful than Photoshop with regard to quality and productivity aspects. Those customers that are making money with their knowledge and their time have bought Linotype scanners because of this. SilverFast Ai (Linotype) helps them…
