ASCII Projektor 3 (Mac OS X)
This is a neat little program. I noticed a couple of limitations: As the number of lines increased, the amount of the camera's field of vision that's acknowledged decreased. At the default, only the left half of the window was converted to ASCII; the other half was blank. Increasing the number of lines reduced it to only the lower-left quarter; and so on. Also, is there a way to save the conversion, either as a TXT or MOV file? [alert admin]

Bernie ][ The Rescue 3.0b (Mac OS 9)
This program has been redeveloped for Mac OS X as a Universal Binary. It's called Sweet16. [alert admin]

DCSquares 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)
As fun as the original, with power-ups to make things interesting. The new online scoring system is a bit odd, though; it will retrieve scores, but not submit them - you have to create an online account and type in a password, which seems somewhat archaic. [alert admin]

SafariSIA 1.0b1 (Mac OS X)
Haven't tried this yet, but it looks like a freeware alternative to one of the most useful functions of Saft [alert admin]

I use GraphicConverter, $30 shareware, which can open, edit, and save PDF files. [alert admin]

Just what I was looking for for when I'm preparing dinner while iTunes' full-screen visualizer is engaged. Two features are missing: the ability to choose the announcer's voice; and the saving of preferences. One star lost for each of these. Can it come with a script to launch it from iTunes? SafariSnapshotter 1.0 (Mac OS X)
The link at <http://www.geocities.com/realnicesoftware/page2.html> works for me. This program sounds like something Saft does, though. [alert admin]

Saft 7.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I agree that the method of deployment for Saft is irregular. I've been watching this page for an update, or my email box since "Registered users will get the full version of Saft via email hours before each public release". But it turns out a new version was available on the developer's web site for a few days now, and I never heard about it. I entered my eSellerate ID and downloaded it from Hao's web site. Saft 7.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I love the shortcuts and History Search features of Saft; it makes Safari even more usable than Firefox. Last night's Security Update updated Safari and potentially broke Saft; here's to hoping for a quick update. [alert admin]

Saft 7.2.1 (Mac OS X)
This is concerning... I paid my registration fee last night, and received an email with a URL to download the full version, and an email address for the author. Neither work. [alert admin]

Contrarily, this wikipedia entry suggests the card game you (and I) are thinking of is known primarily as Red Dog, though it's also been called "Ace-Deuce" and "In between"... though the official site it links to does call the game "Acey-Deucy".
So apparently there is some overlap here.
