Drive Genius 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Customer Support Gets An F

The program seems to offer a lot of features. However, I have yet to experience what it can do as my application is defective and the company has failed to respond and/or ignores my emails. All I get is a "ticket" from them, but never any followup. The product may be great, if you get a working copy, but customer service is grades an F. [alert admin]

It may not…

be the fastest or prettiest browser for the Mac, but it is stable and will render most web pages without problems. The others mentioned above cannot properly render a good many pages on the web and until they improve in this department, they're not ready for prime time. [alert admin]

Investor/RT 5.4.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Running 5.7.3 under…

Jaguar (OS 10.2) without any problems. It's fast and stable and a very powerful tool. Linnsoft is amazing in that they keep upgrading the product adding new features that users have requested about every two weeks. And they do this for three operating system platforms. There is a discussion group on Yahoo dedicated to RT users and the programmers and technical support folks post there daily. I've never seen such excellent customer support in any software package. Personal Hotline 8.1 (Mac OS 9)

Crashed constantly on…

me. Was told by their support that I should try using it on an old non power pc mac. Changed to Investor/RT and I've never looked back. RT is now native in OS X now. Has Hotline even gotten up to running on OS 8 yet? [alert admin]

WriteNow 4.0.2 (Mac OS 9)

Simply the best…

wordprocessor ever developed for any operating system. I've used a number of others including various incarnations of Word and WordPerfect and none of them have the ease of use and stability of WriteNow. If you've ever lost an important document to a Word crash you know how important stability is. I wish someone would put this one back on the market. [alert admin]
