Logitech Control Center 3.1 (Mac OS X)
Like others, I hacked around 3.0 by installing from the buried package, and copying Expose and Spaces from their new Snow Leopard locations in Utilities, back into Applications. The 3.1 Control Center installed as expected, without summersaults above, and lo and behold -- when I deleted the copied Expose and Spaces, all things worked as they did in Leopard. Back to normal. I only wish Logitech had been ready on day one. This certainly looks to be only a 64-recompile of a 32-bit driver. It's not like Snow Leopard was an ambush. Still, thanks for update. [alert admin]

TextExpander 2.5 (Mac OS X)
Ouch! Freezes my MacBook Air Finder
Normally SmileOnMyMac delivers nicely. Unfortunately this morning installing TextExpander 2.5 on my Air caused the Finder to seize immediately, asking for me to "turn on Assistive Devices" but ignoring any input, mouse or otherwise. You've no concept of fun until you've tried to remove a buggy preference pane from a MacBook Air that freezes on Finder load... (God bless Remote Access and my wife's iMac.) Proceed gently. SplashID Password Manager 4.14 (Mac OS X)
Error in version numbers and products
VersionTracker Pro 4.5.1 mistakenly cross-references SplashID Desktop for iPhone (currently at 4.02) with SplashID Standalone Desktop (4.1.4) They are two separate products at two separate revision levels. Please adjust your database to reflect. The same applies for SplashShopper Desktop. Thank you, JTWolff@mac.com [alert admin]

Dialectic 1.0 (Mac OS X)
As the title says, a terrific little application; one that has earned its place as one of my login items. No more dialing or misdialing; no programming of speed-dials, just a click in my OS X Address Book and in seconds I'm talking on either my cordless or landline. Many many functions, but the ease of dialing via USB modem is well worth the price of admission. A worthy successor to Jon's Phone Tool (the previous incarnation) that also comes with a friendly, responsive developer. Go, buy, exalt. [alert admin]

Yep 1.6b2 (Mac OS X)
Just downloaded 1.6 Beta 2. Wow! The addition of nested folders vastly improves the catagorization we type A's need. One of my favorite applications, always open. Many have spoken of the paperless office, but with the combination of Yep and my Fujitsu ScanSnap, it's become a reality. One weekend reduced four large boxes of accumulated financial records into a folder-full of PDF's, easily found and searchable. Kudos to the developers for their attention both to the interface details, and to user's suggestions. [alert admin]

VersionTracker 6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I wont waste bandwidth here, but practically all the bad things said in other posts are true -- more clicks, hidden reviews, bad links, broken rendering, slower, absurdly wider.... and on and on. This has to be the most spectacularly bad redesign of a web service in years. Truly. And yes, I include the infamous American Express site. Who in your offices proposed this? Worse -- who approved the deployment? [alert admin]

utility that got my $10 just minutes after downloading it. I'm in awe of how versatile it is -- I've actually asked the it to digest my Photoshop files of my wife and place the resulting images on my Samsung I-300 Palm/Cellphone. Guess what? It worked -- flawlessly! Congratulations Splashdata on extending beyond the usual Palm-only hardware coding. Definitely the kind of price and completeness that we wih we to find here. [alert admin]
