Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.6 (Mac OS X)
Warning to all mobile users. New update does no longer work with Sony Erikson K700i and a few other phones. Other reported problems with update. Suggest you all wait untill Apple get their act together on this one (all sounds a bit like a Microsoft update) [alert admin]

Microtek ScanMaker ScanWizard 7.51 (Mac OS X)
It seems that we have a company which is quite willing to build and sell us scanners. Sadly however when it comes to producing software (that incidental thing that makes it all come together and returns your investment) they are sadly lacking. Look you guys at Microtek, if your listening, get your act together - or better still throw a few thousand dollars at Hamrick and do a deal to ship vuescan with your products. [alert admin]

Microtek ScanMaker ScanWizard 7.20.1 (Mac OS X)
Do not install. This update does not work - OS hangs. Had to reinstall version 7.10 which works fine running OS X 10.3.8. [alert admin]

Minolta Dimage Scan Multi Pro 1.1.5 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Great scanner but problems with the driver. I too kept getting 'unknown error' and only restarting would temporally clear the problem. Installing the new update only made things worse so that a restart no longer worked. Minolta web site proved a waste of space when looking for a solution. However deleting the MFSLibibi (Library/Preferences/DiMAGE Scan/MFSLibibi) does work. After the troubles I'v had with Umax and OS-X I am however considering making Vuescan our standard scanner software. [alert admin]

Nikon Scan X 3.1.3 (Mac OS X)
- for nothing. Everyone here is on OS X, except for one machine still running OS 9 to support our scanners. We will how ever be changing them soon. Normaly we would tend to replace Nikon with Nikon but this time we will have to consider other manufacturers who seem to be savvy with OS X. [alert admin]

I do know what memory allocation is. We run around 30 G4's with plenty of memory in a professional environment. We also know how to maintain the OS. So before you rabbit on about on about others just consider yourself lucky that you have been spared a problem that everyone else seems to suffer from. [alert admin]

one give this very flawed product 5 stars? Reading through the past comments, and my own experience, 5.1 will lock up. 5.0 being, for now, the only safe alternative. So for those who give it a 5 rating (and still report it has problems !) you are not doing the Mac community any favours. All you achieve is to push up the average rating for what is a typical Microsoft release, untested and flawed. [alert admin]

and going back to 5.0. Having to force quit most of the day as it locks up. Seems to have fixed a few bugs and introduced a whole lot more [alert admin]
