Winclone 1.6b4 (Mac OS X)

Not the only fish in the sea..

For those that are nervous about using beta software on their system, or for people that want to keep their options open, OS X's Disk Utility software also allows you to clone your BootCamp partition. I'm not trying to disparage Winclone, but let people know there are other programs that "just work" [alert admin]

MagicEngine 0.9.9b4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

I agree with Richard...

The interface does seem based on DOS. BUT there IS CD support in OS 9.x Install a copy of Apple CD/DVD Driver 1.3.9 and it works fine. [alert admin]

VolumeWorks 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

How to re-enable OS 9 drivers after using Volumeworks

When you are done with Volumeworks, reboot your system using an OS 9.x CD. Run Drive Setup and select the option to update the drivers. Ignore the warning about the hard drive having newer drivers already installed and click continue (or OK; can't remember as I'm not in OS 9 right now). This will reinstall OS 9 drivers on all the partitions. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.7 (Mac OS X)

Greystudio

download and install the 10.3.7 combo update. sounds like some files that need to be updated, were in fact not touched by the SU version. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.7 (Mac OS X)

It is not a issue of tampering

The combo updater updates the same files as the delta, and a lot more files as well. However, if I remember how things worked in the past, the combo is created first, then the smaller delta. I suspect pacifist was just encountering different creation dates. My question is, unless you were having problems with the delta update... why did you download the combo version? [alert admin]

Symantec NAV virus def Oct 21 (Mac OS X)

Ignore ubercow..

while it is true that so far, Macs have been relatively virus free, that could easily change. Meanwhile, I use Norton Antivirus to prevent me from accidentally receiving and sending out emails that might have windows based virus' attached to them. [alert admin]

Chat Client 7.96 (Mac OS X)

what a bunch of whiners

1) I fail to see why it needs to be open-source. As for money, you don't HAVE to pay to use the program. all it does is remove a popup when you start it. 2) You are right, 2 chat networks are not most, but they aren't ALL of them either. Therefore it is correctly described. [alert admin]

DivX 5.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

ugh

3ivx is a joke. yeah sure.. it looks good. but it drops sound big time and loses video to audio synchronization quickly on my G4 1.4ghz Quicksilver with 1.5gb ram. Divx 5.2 is vastly superior overall. [alert admin]

Doesn't always work...

almost everytime I update OS X versions (w/o doing a clean install), I am told that I need to register the program (sometimes it doesn't even require a system update). When I enter my email address, it tells me to try again or contact the developer. Emailing him results in a claim that I have made several registrations using my email address. Seems like either the developer's system or his software has major security holes that…

Joel - thanks but no luck

they do. That is what the AppleSeed Program is about. It allows end users to test Apple's software, both new and updates on their own system, in all kinds of environments. We did not have any problems with firewire dvd burners that I remember seeing.

It is not a issue of tampering

ahhh, I must have missed that post. That's cool. Pacifist is not really a good program to use with OS software. mixing different versions of files is not a good idea as it can cause more problems then solve them. In this case, Apple made more changes to the nVidia extensions than it did to the ATI ones (or I assume they did. no one in my appleseed group posted any changes or improvements on…

What's New?

Updates are not always reported by the developer. ANYONE can sumbit an update or a new program to Versiontracker. Just look on the right hand side for the link that says "Broken Link? Newer Version? Tell us!"

This program is very simple to not only setup, but to use. If you can't figure it out, you shouldn't be on irc.
