Chamonix 1.1a (Mac OS X)

Universal Please!

Love it! I know it's free but a little nudge for a universal version here! Thanks! [alert admin]

BumperCar 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Works as promised!

With a teenage daughter who was spending too much time chatting, on Yahoo mail, and MySpace, etc., this was just the trick! The ability to limit her time and keep her from surfing at 2am has gone a long way to keeping things under control. [alert admin]

WidgetTerm 0.04 (Mac OS X)

Wow...

This is scary! Root access from the dashboard using a tool that for all you know could be sending your IP Adx and root level password out the back door. Not saying this does anything of the kind but man think about how easy that would be once tools like this, and widgets are easy to write, start popping up that aren't just cute nice to haves. SCARY! Griffin PowerMate X 1.6 (Mac OS X)

Same here! Tiger users STAY AWAY!

I too installed this under a fresh install of Tiger with only stuffIt installed and all $#!! broke loose! I wish I had read this thread earlier. I'll try the uninstall options listed and see how that does. I did visit Griffin's web site and see there is NOTHING there pointing to any trouble which REALLY upsets me and makes me question if I will EVER buy anything from them again. I don't mind software compatibilty issues, they happen, I can wait for an update, but I do care when a vendor hides an issue and puts me through a weekend of hell trying to figure out what's wrong. I won't forget this Griffin! [alert admin]

TiVo Desktop 1.9 (Mac OS X)

3 Year Tivo User

Ok...nice to have the Mac supported and it is cool to be able to share my music and photo's through my wireless network to my Audio system. It's killing me that it doesn't support ACC which I won't, at this time blame Tivo for, as it may be an Apple issue. However, having said that Tivo needs to; 1. Prove your product and business model with people who have historically shown are forward thinking, early adopters, that push technology, are willing and able to spend $$$$ and are loyal while serving as great word-of-mouth advertising. Can you say "mac users"? 2. Get a reel customer feedback area/email address so your customers can talk back to you and you can be more responsive and have a better understanding of their needs and concerns. 3. Put a FireWire 400/800 port on your units for easier transfer of files once Tivo to Go comes to Mac. Not looking forward to transfers over wireless etc. MUCH easier to plug in laptop or Mac Mini directly. My 2 cents...owner of two series II units, former DirectTV unit owner, and someone who is loosing faith and thinking of alternatives. All the talk of how cool Tivo To Go is has got me considering the Mac PVR options again...not a good way to keep customer loyalty. I hope your listening Tivo! [alert admin]

Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Spell Checker?

One of my fav features of Safari, we all have one I'm sure, is that it uses the OS's built-in spell checker. I use a lot of sites, lis this one, where I enter a lot of info and a spell checker is my savior. Though I appreaciate the work here I also want software I use to support the unique features of the OS I've chosen. Firefox fails at that. From the UI widgets to support of a lot of services I have to say it wll remain my backup browser for the few odd sites that Safari has trouble with. [alert admin]
