launch2net 1.8.8.6 (Mac OS X)

About Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Hello there. Thank you for your comments. As you may know, launch2net relies on the modem drivers of several modem manufacturers to "talk" to the modems and make the online experience as best as possible. Now, as 10.6 compatible modem drivers are not available at the moment, we can not issue a 10.6 compatible update immediately. This does not only affect us, but in general many drivers have to be updated to work with 10.6. We have stated this on our website as soon as 10.6 was able to be purchased and we are sorry for any inconvenience the lack of modem drivers have caused us all. Then, there seems to be a slight misunderstanding about the way launch2net helps you to go online. launch2net is not a collection of modem scripts, but a full-featured Internet connection manager. Besides the ability to automatically recognize your device and network information, it will use the right connection settings even in foreign countries. As you know, using your SIM card for online connections abroad is quite expensive due to the roaming costs. With launch2net, you can use e.g. a PrePaid card in foreign countries to connect as easy as at home without the need to call the foreign language support team. In addition, launch2net keeps track of the online time and data usage. So you can have launch2net quit a connection if a certain limit has been reached. Or check the statistics any time. Furthermore launch2net can autostart a connection, work in the backgound, connect and disconnect using only a menu-bar item without the need to open the application and more. This is the difference to a mere modem script and it can save you hundreds of dollars roaming costs and much time otherwise spent talking to a network support team. Kind regards, Jan Fuellemann (nova media) [alert admin]

iSync plugins 7.1 (Mac OS X)

Not quite so

Hello and thank you for your comment. First of all, there is no time restriction. You can use up to three cell phones, even on different computers and the plugins you use are updated when you click the update button. This works just like the software update from Apple or any sparkle update from any other program. So nothing new or strange here. While it is true that not all 100+ plugins are installed at once, we had the experience that many (and I mean a real lot of people) distributed our software illegal through the net. Not a very nice move, since we do keep the price of the software real low and offer extensive support and regular updates. But there is no sense in giving the Mac community the means to sync their phones by loosing money in the end. So please address your concern to these copyright violators. Based on the experience of the last years (!) our customers change their phones about once every two years. So with one purchase of 10 Euro, you get your sync-needs covered for about 6 years. That is unlike any bargain I have ever heard of. With the old system, you would have had to buy a new version after 12 months, if you had change you phone. So actually you get more for the same price, and we are happy to be able to keep the product alive. Thanks again for your thoughts, Jan Fuellemann (nova media) [alert admin]

Hello gryphonent we have taken your comments to heart and have rewritten the FoneLink engine for FoneLink 2.0. iSync phone plugins 6.0 (Mac OS X)

Hi Gulliver64

I already tried to tell it to you: First of all you get free updates for 12 months after your purchase. Second, you do *not* need to update. You can stay with your current software as long as you keep your cell phone. Even then you can still use more than a 100 already supported phones. Third, this software is a "plugin" as the name tells. We can not change iSync. Missing Sync is a real software. They *can* change things, if you ask nice. But we can not adapt to them as we are only a plugin. Fourth, you pay only around 10 US-$. You can use more than 155 cell phones with our plugins. You get free support. I call this fair. And yes, the reason for an update of a *plugin* is to add new phones. Again, we can not add any functionality. For this, please use FoneLink. It will sync, transfer data, do SMS text and more. So I really would like you to go over you review, look what you get for US-$ (or your free update, remember?) and change your words and you rating. Just to stay on the site that reads "fair review" instead of "blackmail". What do you think? Best Jan Fuellemann (nova media) [alert admin]

iSync phone plugins 5.2 (Mac OS X)

@jimbo95

Hello jimbo95, I am sorry for the trouble you ran into. The T250i uses the same platform as most other Sony Ericsson phones, so the synchronisation should work, even though you might need to use a USB cable instead. Since we do offer support for more than 150 cell phones, many of them are not even available here in Germany. So we have to rely on working with our customers to offer a working solution and there is no shame in that - otherwise we would not see iSync support for many cell phones at all :-) But if a customer helps us like you did in supporting a new phone, the software is free for him or her, and my collegue will get back to you with a refund, of course. So thanks again for pointing out and I hope this clarifies the "why and who did this happen" questions and I encourage everyone to send us the info about the phones you would like to see supported as you did before and report errors as well. We are humans, but still strive to help you as best as we can. Cheers Jan Fuellemann (nova media) [alert admin]

FoneLink 1.5.3 (Mac OS X)

@ toomas

Hi, could you please check if you are using an external Bluetooth adapter? We know that some are not delivering the signal strength they should, so you might have to exchange that one. For the N95, you need to use the latest firmware - older firmware has some bugs in the communication. Thank you Jan Fuellemann (nova media) [alert admin]

It is the latest version :-)

Hi, as soon as you use the iSync plugins, the cell phone description are updated to the latest versions. So even if the plugin reads version 7.1 you still use the most up-to-date version of the plugins themselves. Kind regards, Jan Fuellemann

11.00 US-$ once - use it for more than 6 years

Hi, thanks for the comment. If you change your cell phone or your Mac every 2 years, you can use the iSync plugins for up to 6 years - for just 11.00 US-$ (and that includes the change of the Mac or the cell phone - twice!). Then: Sony Ericsson W910i works very well for many customers. For the mere 11.00 US-$ you pay you *do* get direct support from us. Did you try talking to…

Re:Not quite so

Hello, as you might know, our plugins are limited to whatever iSync offers as infrastructure. Many Motorola and LG phones do not support the protocols iSync requires, so we can not support them either. If you look for a better way to sync and work with your phone and Mac,tyr FoneLink at http://www.novamedia.de/fonelink Thanks Jan Fuellemann

Re:Not quite so

Hi, true - we do 2 things: We load the current list of supported phones, so the list you see is most recent and only if you click on "Update" in case a plugin is old, we update your plugins. No other data is transferred. About the time restrictions: When you have purchased an old plugin within the last 12 months from us, the update is free. There is no time restriction for the new version. Kind…

Forwared Step for most users

Hello, thank you for your comment. With any version prior to version 7 we have found illegal copies all over the Internet shortly after each release. We kind of anticipated a few illegal copies, but those were not only single ones. So we decided to keep the product, keep the low price, but sell the iSync plugins like bars of candy: When you eat them, they are gone. You can activate three cell phones on up…
