Dock Detox 1.2 (Mac OS X)

I only wanted this for Entourage

v1.1 in Jaguar worked perfectly to make Entourage X shut up. v1.2 installs and appears to function properly for other apps, but Entourage never appears in the Enhanced Applications list, and continues to bounce. What gives? [alert admin]

WinSCP 3.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

So far so good

First SCP client I tried; it appears to work as advertised. Bonus points for ease of use and decent interface. [alert admin]

Kensington MouseWorks 2.3 (Mac OS X)

Will not install on 10.2.7 (preinstalled on new iMac)

This version works great on my Sawtooth G4/450 running 10.2.6. I have no complaints, except that I wish the tracking speed settings would be effective on the login screen. My dad just bought a new 15" 1GHz iMac, which came preconfigured with 10.2.7 (6R42). MouseWorks 2.3 seems to install successfully, but after restarting, choosing MouseWorks from the System Preferences pane results in a message saying the driver is not installed. I was unable to make it work. Several attempts resulted in the same behavior. -Jake [alert admin]

LimeWire X 2.9.9 (Mac OS X)

New features are…

listed on limewire.com, just like they have always been! Sure, it'd be nice if the changes were posted here, but I'm not going to underrate the software because the listing on VT was no good. I don't have any of the problems you guys mention on my G4/450 running 10.2.5. It's a little slow, but so is my machine. [alert admin]

MacZilla 4.0.2 (Mac OS 9)

  it works,…

I guess. it sucks as a browser plugin - it just launches a player. you're better off using Apple's Quicktime Plugin. Zilla can't do anything better than it can. [alert admin]
