FLV Viewer 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Funny

It's funny, just last night I was looking for an app to do this and could find nothing that worked. Just downloaded this and it does the trick. Ugly interface, but at least it works. Now if only the file you wanted to play didn't have to be in the same folder as the app, it would be even better. [alert admin]

Conversation 2.12 (Mac OS X)

Great App

Conversation is a great IRC App. It's a perfect fit for OS X utilizing an interface that will be familiar to any OS X user and is easy enough to use that even a beginner shouldn't have problems with it. The app is Donationware and I'd encourage all who sue it to go ahead and make a donation. My only gripe with it is that I really, really don't like the notification badges. I would love to see an option to either a) turn the off completely, or b) (in my opinion a much better option) to have a preference to turn off the badges for "general" messages but still have the badge for "private" messages function. I plan on e-mailing the developer about this as soon as I get around to donating. Other than that, and I realize that that's all subjective anyway, A+. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Mac OS X)

Installed Fine

Install went without a hitch. The only things I've noticed that are "different". The original Apple supplied Bookmarks are added to the bookmark bar if they've been removed, luckily it doesn't delete any of YOUR bookmarks so all you have to do is delete three or four of them and it's back to normal. Also, selecting website content (e.g., click and drag over text, pictures, etc.) is dramatically different. Try it on a site like news.com and you'll see that some things are selected twice?! Very strange. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.7 (Mac OS X)

No Problems

Installed with no problems, but then again, I've never had a problem with an OS X update so... [alert admin]

vTunes 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Nice Overall

Overall a cool plug-in. I agree with the previous post that resolution could be improved for "Skyscraper" when in full screen mode and there seems to be a bug that causes the skyscraper plugin to go white if you change an option forcing you to stop and then restart the visualizer. Besides that it's great. [alert admin]

Namely 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Excellent

I know there are plenty of other apps out there that can do this and then some, but I like single-purpose solutions personally (like SizzlingKeys) and that's what this is. Only one thing is missing, a global hotkey to bring this app to the front, other than that, excellent. [alert admin]

iTunes Links 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Agreed

I was thinking the exact same thing as the previous poster. Turns out this does use an AppleScript to do it's magic (which is great, that's what it's for), but the actual app is only 340 KB. The file responsible for the HUGE download, a 6.4 MB background image for the "disk's" Finder window background. Not exactly the best idea in my opinion. May want to rethink the packaging. I'll try to communicate this to the developer as well. As far as the app itself goes. Works great. Just not packaged very intelligently. [alert admin]

Carbon MacTFTP

Zeds Dead: No need to boot into Classic, there's a Carbon (read OS X compatible) version of MacTFTP available. Just search here for it. [alert admin]

SizzlingKeys4iTunes 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Perfect (well, close enough :-))

I've been looking for an app to provide global iTunes hotkeys WITHOUT also providing a menu extra (why use a mouse when the keyboard is right there and can do so much more?!). The funny thing is, the default basic controls were EXACTLY what I was going to use. One request. The ability to assign a shortcut to bring iTunes to the front. I have a lot of custom AppleScripts for iTunes that I've assigned keyboard shortcuts to but iTunes has to be the frontmost application for the shortcuts to work. Right now I just cmd-tab to iTunes but having a hotkey that I know would activate iTunes in one keystrok would be so much better. Great work. [alert admin]

I Would LOVE To Play This Game But

it won't lauch cause of an issue with Stuffit 8.0. You need to fix the permissions on it. You can do this in terminal by navigating to the MacBMD directory and typing "sudo chmod -R 755 MacBMD.app" This should fix it for you. Alternatively, there's a script you can download somewhere on the stuffit site to fix it. Hope that helps.
