ACDSee 1.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

For me, this is appears to be the best there is (1.6.9)

This program has its share of problems, but at least the minor revisions seem to have been upgraded in recent times, which is good news. I was happy with the classic version on the PC before I dumped windows and moved to a Mac. And although there are many great graphics programs on the Mac, none work like ACDSEE or something like GwenView on Linux. Most others are slow in comparison and hopeless for navigating 3000+ images in a single directory, all thumbnailed. ACDSEE's strenghts are its fast, can navigate existing directories with ease, has full screen mode that works nicely like the PC one although zoom is limited. So for the Time being this is as good as it gets for me, be it limited and with many bugs. (I dont recommend any editing of images with this product) but the browser and its speed is what sets ACDSEE appart from the others So to the ACDSEE team, fix the bugs and if add any features. Zooming in full screen mode when autosize is on would be nice. [alert admin]

Yahoo! Messenger 2.5.3 (Mac OS 9)

OSX version Not as feature complete as windows version

After dumping my virus riddled windows computer for a mac, I have to say that the Mac version of Yahoo Instant Messenger is missing a lot of basic functionality that I had on windows. For one, Why cant I create an alias for my buddies? some of friends have obsure usernames, this should be a basic thing. Secondly, while I can view others web cams, why cant I talk using my mike and speakers. I mean every G3 Mac + has them built-in I think its a simple ask that the mac version be at least withing coey of the windows one. Can anyone recommend another client that does have these features on Mac OSX? J [alert admin]
