MathMagic Personal Edition 6.4 (Mac OS X)

Just keeps getting better.

It seems like I'm the only one that writes positive comments for this product but I really like it. Between it and ChemDraw, all of my publications and Keynote presentations have seen significant improvement. Working in the field of Chemometrics, I need clear equation presentation for my students. MathMagic meets the bill. [alert admin]

iZone Internet Turbo 6.0.31 (Mac OS X)

Freeware?

Hum... How can something be listed as freeware AND costing $49.99. [alert admin]

MathMagic Personal Edition 6.1.4 (Mac OS X)

Better and better

This product continues to mature and improve. With MS Word having a poor equation editor which is not compatible with the Windows version and iWork having little in the way of equation support, MathMagic is a must. It's significantly improved my course presentations and research publications. Well worth the cost. [alert admin]

MathMagic Personal Edition 6.03 (Mac OS X)

Solid product

The developers have created a solid product for math, science and even chemical equations. There is nothing out there that even comes close for the price. [alert admin]

MathMagic Personal Edition 5.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Still the best.

With every tweak, MathMagic keeps getting better. My class presentations and research presentation keep benefitting from this product. Thanks. [alert admin]

StatisticS 4.3.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Why bother?

Why do these authors keep trying to bulk people of their money? Nothing has changed beyond the version number. [alert admin]

MathMagic P.E. 5.41 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Rapid Service.

You can't fault the service of the MathMagic folks. Yesterday a couple of us note a problem with v5.4. Today, we have a fix, including personal email notification. [alert admin]

StatisticS 4.1.7 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Still not worth the money.

First off, that authors really need to stop writing their own comments praising this product. Their lack of English skills and 5 star ratings tend to make their reviews stand out. The product still doesn't come close to what other statistical products have to offer. It has a nonintuitive interface, no significant documentation and way overpriced for what little it has to offer. Excel offers more, Aabel is even better - and the authors are Korean - who are quite capable of writing a clear, English manual for their product. I've taught statistics for years - from simple univariant methods to advanced multivariate methods (PCA, PCR, Neural networks and so forth) so I'd like to think I know a bit about available products. The scary part is that the authors (via their pseudo-reviews) claim that this product is ideal for medical statistics. I sure hope that US MDs aren't using it. Your money is better spent of a TI-59 calculator. [alert admin]

5.4 Major oops

All earlier versions have been able to sit in the same folder and function. However, like you, v5.4 crashes for me - regardless of where the program resides.

A real piece of merde.

Look, we can make this a battle or you can take my comments for what they are - an honest evaluation of your product. I'd feel differently if this was a shareware (or free) program but you are representing it as a professionally produced statistical analysis system. I have many statistical programs so my students can see what is available when I teach Chemometrics - I'd like to think I know a bit about such…
