Boycott Reversecode!

I call that Reversecode be boycotted by the Mac community! E-mail all listing sites (VersionTracker.com, Apple.com, download.com, MacUpdate.com, cnet.com) and demand that the listings for this software be removed! It is malware, I don't care what your reasoning is...any program that knowingly damages your system is malware! Nowhere in the EULA does it state that there's a chance that your files could be deleted. In fact it says the exact opposite. Let it be known that we do not want developers like this making our platform a risky place and we will not stand for it! Boycott Reversecode, Reversecode.com, and Display Eater! We demand a public apology. [alert admin]

tvMenu 1.0b1 (Mac OS X)

No Longer Supported

Sorry for all of the disappointment. Sadly, tvMenu is no longer supported. TVGuide.com apparently doesn't like programs ripping their listings. Perhaps a new version will address the issue, but I can't make any promises. [alert admin]

SARS 1.0b5 (Mac OS X)

US: SARS

I've been working hard on adding state-specific information to SARS, however, the format on the CDC site seems to be impossible. [alert admin]

SARS 1.0b5 (Mac OS X)

Can you spell biased?

SARS is not a joke. We don't know exactly how it's spread, exactly where it came from, or exactly where it's going. It's nothing more than an interface to a web page wrapped up into nifty menu item for easy access. So who cares that you have no interest in the statistics for the SARS virus? If you're not interested, DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS APPLICATION!! Nobody is forcing you to download it. Also, you shouldn't post ANYTHING to this feedback if you have not downloaded and tried the application (::looks at Andreas Schwarz::). You people make it seem like I released this program simply for laughs. This is no laughing matter. SARS has crippled the economies of numerous nations, and for all I (or anybody else for that matter), SARS could very well change our way of life. I bet if I had released this in April or whenever SARS WAS a big issue, none of you would be saying anything. Don't be so eager to act like a child. [alert admin]

SARS 1.0b3 (Mac OS X)

Uh oh!

Quick note: CDC keeps changing format around. A new update that conforms to the dynamic nature of the site will be release 6/11/03. [alert admin]

Hmm

It's not supposed to be useful. It's purely for reference. That's like calling these reviews/comments "useful". [alert admin]

Quite frankly...

I don't see how this app would "keep everybody in constant fear." I mean, I'm not scared, I'm just curious...along with millions of other people on the internet. All this is is a reference program. I mean come on...It's not like it's an automatic alert for when the world is ending. For people like McNeely: go do something productive. [alert admin]

This is sad...

So I guess you would say the users of anti-virus software are paranoid as well? The odds of you actually getting a virus (especially on a Mac) are slim to none. Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe comments should have feedback types of "Commentary", and reviews should have feedback types of "Review". Don't post a bad rating just because you don't necessarily agree with the concept of the application. Some people are PARANOID, others are not. I mean, SARS is fairly easy to use, it has all the support and documentation possible, the features are iffy, the quality (imho) is alright (along with the stability), and you couldn't ask for anything better when it comes to the price. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinions and what they do with the radio buttons in their web forms are their business. [alert admin]

addressing you

By doing this, you have just officially declared your own application as MALWARE. You can't tell me (or VersionTracker, or MacUpdate, or Apple.com) that purposely damaging a user's files FOR ANY REASON (NO PIRACY IS NOT ONE OF THEM) is acceptable. You cannot guarantee that this system is 100% foolproof. You haven't tested it on every machine configuration possible. In that sense, you cannot guarantee that even trying the demo won't end up with your files…

Pretty nice.

SARS is a menu item, however, it is not a menu extra (I think you meant to say this).

djn-one

DJN-ONE, you are right; malaria does kill more than SARS does. However, we know how it is spread, what it does exactly, and how to treat. You can't say the same for SARS. And no, you don't "need" this program in your menu bar. Nor do you "need" the Volume menu item, the clock menu item, or any other menu item. But most of us "want" these things in our menu bar. Don't be so…
