SuperSync 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)
The demo won't launch on my Intel MacPro running 10.5.2 and I have tried three times to submit a message to that effect to the developers through their system on their website and each time it fails. Is this a joke? [alert admin]

Saft 10.0.6 (Mac OS X)
Can't download update from registered user's site
I can't download the new version from the registered user's site, http://haoli.dnsalias.com/ld/d.php?saft_leopard. I enter my email address, used for registration, and my Transaction ID from PayPal. The Safari browser page reloads to one telling me that the download is in progress and to check my downloads window. In my downloads folder is a <<s.php>> item. Get info claims it is a PHP source Kind and 4 KB Size. I have emailed Hao Li and there has been no response. I have problems with downloading each and every update in the Leopard version of Saft. It has ALWAYS been a pain in the butt to update this application as others have noted. I am ready to give up on this application as the single greatest benefit, to me, which is the saving of the quit state of tabs, is not worth the aggravation. I do not recommend this utility as I once did. If the developer joins the legion of other developers that have taken advantage of the Sparkle technology or similar then I might change my mind. If Safari itself never crashed then I wouldn't have need of Saft's ability to restore the tabs. That would be nice. [alert admin]

RoadMovie 1.0 (Mac OS X)
A great program and especially handy for subtitles ![]()

As a registered user of the wonderful program Submerge I was curious to see what RoadMovie had to offer. I have been using VisualHub and it works quite well but adding subtitles required the use of Submerge and added extra steps. I am happy to report that RoadMovie makes it a one-step process. This is a wonderful utility and I found the layout and interface to be exceptionally well done especially when compared to the competition. This is an initial release and it does not have the ability to burn a disc of the encoded data. I hope that this is a feature which is added in the not-too-distant future, please/thank you. As this is the first release of the software there are some gaps in the online documentation but the very intuitive nature of the program makes this a very minor omission and I would expect the documentation to grow with the features of the program. I have had occasion to email Jörgen and his replies were very prompt and thorough. I would say that customer support will be well above average. I recommend this program without hesitation. I wrote the developer's PR person and mentioned my problems and never heard a word. It doesn't sound like the Customer Service will be too good for this application. Kinda makes me wonder if the developer is legit or not. It is too bad because the concept of the app sounds potentially useful.

After buying Yep at a discount on MacZOT I used a trial of Leap and loved it so I bought it. I am glad I tried the programs as they are very useful. I know that they will get better as I learn to use the software. They are quite powerful programs.

I wrote Hao Li at 2:29 PM Eastern when I discovered the problem on my first attempt to download the update. No response from him and I see that it is still not fixed. At least the older 10.0.6 works under Safari 3.1. I guess we just need to be patient.

This morning I finally received an email from Hao Li, the developer, and he advised me to turn off Speed Download as that is what was preventing me from getting the update. I have never had a problem with Speed Download before so it was interesting to see that it could be responsible. I still wish that Saft had an automatic update procedure!!
