ChronoSync 3.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Excellent

This is a great product. I have tried multiple sync solutions and this one is the best. It's the most flexible, easiest, and most importantly reliable, stable, and secure solution I have found. Please support these great Mac developers by buying this product, if you need a sync solution you will not be disappointed. I don't buy a lot of cheap shareware kind of products, but this is a real product made by smart developers, not a hack, and it's well worth the price. One thing I might ask is would it be possible for it to detect and deal with iSync conflicts (for example, if they're both trying to synchronize your Safari prefs or bookmarks)? [alert admin]

StuffIt Expander 10.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I used to love this app, now I hate it.

amcgee, Stuffit doesn't even work decompressing .sit files for me half the time! Never mind the other formats it purports to work with (it rarely does with those either). [alert admin]

CleanArchiver 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

Decompressor, please

I don't have this product since I use built-in zip or dmg to arcvive, but it looks like a good product. Now please write a decompressor so I can drop Stuffit, it's horrible and getting worse! So many times it can't even decompress it's own Stuffit-format files! [alert admin]

RadioSHARK 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Terrible

I reviewed version 1.05, this one is because I want to be on record for how bad 2.0 is, and I want the star ratings to reflect this. [alert admin]

RadioSHARK 1.0.5 (RS73) (Mac OS X)

1.05 Works well, steer clewar of 2.0!

I agree with Mcgroar, install 1.05 if you can and skip 2.0, 2.0 is absolute garbage, one of the worst Mac applications I've ever seen. After I used it for a few days, it crashed, and then I could not restart the app without it immediately crashing ever again, even after restarting, unplugging the RadioSHARK hardware, etc. Fortunately I had a disk image of the old 1.05 software, so I reinstalled that and it's working great under Tiger 10.4.3. Much better interface than 2.0, and you can record without having the app open. Griffin should be ashamed of the 2.0 software, it is truly awful. I don't know if they lost some developers or something, that's definitely what it feels like to me. Not even sure what the whole point of a 2.0 version was in the first place, it doesn't seem to do anything that 1.05 doesn't and is worst in every way. Thus, my four stars are for the 1.05 version, not 2.0. [alert admin]

iCURL 0.9.0 (Mac OS X)

Good Start

Hey this is a simple app, as it says, and it kinda works. I did have a problem where I got failed downloads when I tried to save to directories other than the Desktop (OS X 10.3.3). Also, would be nice if it could detect the file size and put up progress/time estimate, plus a Cancel button, right now I just get an indeterminate progress bar as it downloads. Anyway, keep up the good work, it will be a useful tool for people who just want the basics without fuss. [alert admin]

Maya Personal Learning Edition 5.0 (Mac OS X)

Interface not good...otherwise great

I agree with the poster who said the interface is not as refined as Cinema 4D's is. At least on the Mac side, it looks like a bad Java app (anyway, it yells "PORT" at you). Very rough around the edges and not Mac-like at all. I used to use Alias PowerAnimator on an Indigo2 Extreme and the interface was much much smoother. Maya itself totally rocks, and the PLE is a great move by Alias to let people learn it without pirating. Other than the "unfinished" interface, my only complaint is that the watermarking they put on the renders is a bit too extreme. It's hard to get a good sense of the image you're producing, and I don't think they really had to make it that bold to serve its purpose. Anyway, at $2,000 this program is a steal, well done, Alias. Now if you could just make the upgrades a little more reasonable... [alert admin]

R-Name 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Neat idea but...

Well first of all the interface is non-intuitive. For instance, a Select Folder... button would have been nice, and it wouldn't even allow me to tab between text input fields. First time I tried a search and replace it locked up on me. I force quit and relaunched, then the entire app came back at about 5% opacity (or 95% transparency)...weird. I thank the author for trying but this app definitely needs some work. I use Panther 10.3.2. [alert admin]

Chocolatey Goodness

Thanks so much for making this app and making it free. After banging my head against the wall for many years with Fetch, this app feels so smooth and works perfectly. The UI is excellent and unlike Fetch this thing does not just drop my connection for no reason in the middle of a 10 MB upload. It's simple but fantastic! I highly recommend it if you need a simple FTP browser/uploader. [alert admin]

Terrible, Explain?

Sorry, chevyorange, I listed most of my complaints with 2.0 in my 1.05 review (strange, I know, but I was pointing out how much better 1.05 is than 2.0). 2.0 complaints in short: - App must be open to record. - Computer will not automatically sleep or blank screen while daemon is running. - Tiny user interface for the main controller. - Unfriendly scheduling panel. Many problems here such as the fact that you type time and duration in…
