Intego VirusBarrier X Virus Defs November (Mac OS X)
Like others, I have used both VirusBarrier and NetBarrier for a number of years. I have had no problems with them. They have both proved superior to other applications I have used. VirusBarrier has caught viruses that both Virex and NAV missed. I no longer even have Norton on my computer and only have Virex because it was free. Unlike another post, I do find NetBarrier a little harder to work with than I would like, but that is in part because it does as much as it does. I would like a list of ports somewhere so I know what I might have to open when I need something obscure to open. Otherwise it is powerful and effective. I recommend both VirusBarrier and NetBarrier to new Mac owners. I don't like the annual upgrade fee for NetBarrier since they don't seem to add much for it. I (and others) seem to review VirusBarrier and NetBarrier at the same time because there is a feeling they do go together. Both are good and I recommend both. I have rarely needed support so I can't comment on that. Years ago I did call them and received good service. That was my only need for a service question. I know Intego messed up a while back with their news releases, but their products are good. Hopefully, they learned from that episode. [alert admin]

Life Balance 3.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
have still not smoothed everything out in using it, I do recognize it as one of my important applications. Cnladd got a Mac partly because of this. I bought a Palm (Tungsten) specifically because of this one application. [alert admin]

American Hangman - Presidents and States 2.02 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
found these slew of hangman games to be very good. They ARE educational. Their simplicity is part of their strength. I wouldn't mind seeing something a bit more exciting sometimes and perhaps that may be coming, but overall, these have been great. Good for students at almost every level. Not a bad idea to buy and give some of these as gifts for certain students. They do learn from it. And they do play it. I have seen them do it. But I especially recommend Hang 3000 because it has a greater variety of categories. They are all good. (I have no connection with the developer except that I have had his games for a long time.) SafariCookieCutter 1.0 (Mac OS X)
not like Safari's cookie management and hope that it will improve. It does not provide enough cookie filtering options for me. From the description of the application here, I do not think that this will help me in the areas I want improved. This does seem like an unusual application. Usually, people do not discuss extending the life of cookies some of which go thiryt years into the future, as I recall. I did not know this was a problem for people. But, I thank any developer for bringing more tools to the Mac. [alert admin]

Cocoa eFax 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Works. Still being worked on so should improve even more. I like the fact that Ben has added & fixed so much in this current release. I don't like working with PayPal though. [alert admin]

if it does not support Mac, it is hard to download and rate. It sounds good. Good price, too. But, without Mac support, I can't say much more. I recognize that Windows users also user VersionTracker. Still... [alert admin]

nice. The color and graphics look especially good on my Tungsten. I admit it doesn't seem too useful, but it is nice to look at. Since that is all it is intended to do, it does it well. [alert admin]

not yet have the experience with Life Balance as do other users here, I already recognize it as one of my most important applications and I am still not even fully up and running smoothly. I bought a Palm specifically so that I could use Life Balance. [alert admin]

This had seemed like the perfect time for me to finally buy this product - until hearing about this absurd licensing requirement! I hope they will quickly reconsider what they are doing! I want to get this, but will not risk the problems inherent in this licensing design.
