Kanji Go .9k (Mac OS X)

Best Japanese learning app

This is the best app for learning Japanese so far, and it is being improved on a regular basis. I use it daily. Congrats to the developer. [alert admin]

Thoth 1.8.3 (Mac OS X)

Crashes

After doing a permission repair it still did not install properly. It quits after start up. So I am back to the previous version. It seems a very wacky version, that needs a very meticulous install, a permission repair before and after and a sweep with DiskWarrior or anything else first. Not recommended. [alert admin]

Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Better and worse

Firefox 2 has some improvements but also some problems. It is sometimes slow when selecting a text or a url in the browser. That can take several seconds, even up to a minute or the selected text will not appear at all as selected. This is very annoying when you are trying to copy and paste from the browser. For blogging I need to have open sometimes more than 10 pages at the same time. It seems this slows down the selecting of text and/or urls very much. When a url is selected and then something else, the first selection is not annulled as it should be. [alert admin]

Melody Assistant 7.2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Confusing

What a terrible interface. The manual is not intended for clarity. In short, I removed it. [alert admin]

OMeR X 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Scanning?

First, what a horrible interface. Second, it did not scan. No explanation about how to get it to work with a scanner. Scanning from existing page was very bad. Better type the score in yourself. So I removed it. [alert admin]

VueScan 8.2.24 (Mac OS X)

The Best

With the OCR (for several languages) (and constantly being improved) and the RAW possibilites, this app is the best there is. Buy the pro-version. The colour correction for negatives is splendid and this can now be used also for your RAW files from a Nikon D70 or other camera. You have your own professional dark room with VueScan Pro. Great app! [alert admin]

Where are the loops?

I have Jam Pack 4 Symphony. But where are those 2000 extra loops? I can't find them. Where were they installed? It is difficult to see the total in GarageBand 2, but the number of my loops does not seem to have increased. There were no loops to drop into the GB window, so how and where were they installed? Moreover, if you have put your loops on an external drive, how would it be possible to install these loops there if one does not see them? What I think is that the Product Description refers to the original Jam Pack 4 which is now delivered with the additional improvements: Addresses isolated issues with the sound quality of some Software Instruments when used with GarageBand 2, Logic Pro 7, or Logic Express 7. If you already have JP4 then it only increases the sound quality of the instruments, I think. Nothing else is added. [alert admin]

VueScan 8.1.41 (Mac OS X)

Awesome

When version 8.1.40 stopped working on my Epson Perfection 1640SU it only took a day or two for the new version to come out, which worked fine again. I have seen that the information entered in the Description and Copyright windows in Output tab, appear in the comment window in apps like Gimp. I use the prof. version to scan my old negatives and save RAW files and a jpeg file for the web. In one word, this app is awesome. [alert admin]

This Version Won't launch!

I am on Mac 10.3.9 and the Democracy 8.0.1 version crashed here too. Now it won't start. Back to version 8. Splendid initiative, though. Success!

No it doesn't!

Or as one user before suggested: change the hqx into dmg in the file name. Then it works.
