BPMer 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Does not work for me..

..because it changed my Titles (the non-ASCII) and didn't write the BPM into tag field, so iTunes can display it. Thank god I only tried with 23 titles. User interface is good. Sorry, I hate it to rate bad, but I want other users to be careful. [alert admin]

RsyncBackup 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Resourceforks?

Hi, AFAIK, rsync does not support resource forks (as rsyncx does). Is there a workaround? Heiko [alert admin]

Schick 1.1.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Sending files directly from finder...

...is already possible: Hit cmd-shift-S to send the selected file. You can also do this via Services Menu: Finder -> Services -> Schick -> Send selected.... Heiko (the developer) [alert admin]

Flying Toasters Screen Saver 2.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Issues

Transparency won't work, when password protection is turned on. I'm sorry, this is broken since panther. In Jaguar it works fine. I'm sorry for in the inconvenience. I'll try to find a workaround as soon as possible. I had reports from users which used to use 2.0 or earlier - please try setting transparency - it may be set to 100% by default. [alert admin]

Really great utility

Mike, 1.) The problem with asking what to do is, that this could take forever - the receiver is not necessarily at his desk...ah, okay, it would be possible, but I'm too lazy to implement :-) I will think about it. 2.) Obtrusive interface: I think kind of minimize-in-place like Unsanity's Windowshade X would be a nice idea. I write that down as well. Heiko

suggestions

Aqua status bars are on top of the to-do list. Unfortunately I'm running out of time, so that I had to stop further delopment for now and just released the bug fixed UB version. I will continue development as soon as I can.

Resourceforks?

TriVectus: Great! I didn't know X.4's rsync supports resources, so I continued using rsyncx. THANKS for the hint! Heiko

is it faster than iChat?

Try transmitting a file to someone you are not currently chatting with. With iChat not possible. With Schick you permanently "see" all the Schick Users of your LAN. Drop your files on one, done. Quick and easy. Of course, chatting abilities of Schick are far worse then iChat, but Schick does not want to compete in that. It's a easy way of sending files. Thats it.

Simple and almost perfect

1. Windows-Client: Sorry, I have no such plans (but I know it would be cool - if someone reads this who wants to take the challange -> contact me!) 2. Available the next version (coming soon, bringing many enhancements). 3. New version can use the dock-icon for dropping, what that suffice? Yours, Heiko

You can use "Services Menu" to send a file from finder. (Finder -> Services -> Schick -> Send... (or Cmd-Shift-S)).
