Christmas Crisis 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
This game needs to be user tested!!!
Every place therre could be a default to enter, there isn't. Every place you could keep known data as a default, they don't. And then there is the (lack of) game play. The controls are slow to respond, and clunky. your fingers have to be in too many places at once. COuld be a cool game with some UI work, and play testing by people who didn't write the game. Silmar 2.0.8 (Mac OS X)
It takes me 30 secons to travel a well known path on a G4 800 MHZ, with nothing else running on the box. I have managed to get lucky and forray in far enough to get goods to survive for a bit, but the save structure really doesn't support the raid style sugested. Basic healing costs a LOT when you are just starting, especially for diesease. The dynamic fog of war effect is cool and all, but the perfomance penalty is HUGE. Not to mention that once you have explored a map part, it is just annoying. Some sort of dynamic mapping (turn off the fog for explored territory? Would go a long way to making this game more playable. Also even though the levels are rando generated, it might be possible to max the number of bad guys / traps exist in a single room. I have had to restart several times just to survive the first chamber. [alert admin]

BoomTheShip! 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This is a port of battleship, with the caveat that your ships aren't constrained to be a particular size, but the computers are, sort of. There are no sounds, and the graphics are all static, not to mention primitive. Game play is not terribly obvious, as the setup and play are on the same screen, and setup does not indicate when a game is ready to play. The updates for when you and the computer have made a move are pretty small, and leave you guessing a lot. The status of the game (how close each side is to winning) is plain text, and would be improved greatly by being graphical. There should be a thermometer which has a set of ships, as each one is sunk, it is greyed out. The current system requires you to hit an "Add" button (with no graphical effect) and then click on the square you wish to place your boat (no cursor change) The same widget could be used to show / allow placement of ships. This would keep the playing field level by forcing the player to have ships of particular sizes, and only horiz and vert ship placements. I was able to win my second game without taking a single hit. Fun once, but it would loose it's challenge fast. There is no high score feature (or it is disabled in the demo, and they don't mention it in their screens). Overall I would say this game is eminently missible, even for free, at $5 I would buy movie popcorn instead. I hope the developer continues work, the game could be fun with some work on UI, AI, and game play. [alert admin]

Beer Sippper 1.2 (Mac OS X)
I ran it with no problems, and had fun watching the worm get drunk. It gets hard a little fast for me, but it is well worth the price :) [alert admin]

Did you check out the description page? http://npcunlimited.com/Product_HappyHippyAcres.html I completely agree that the game play is hard to discover without some description, and we simply had NO time for help text. I also agree that it takes a certain mindset to enjoy the game :), but so far with a little coaching people seem to be having fun. The dynamic is Click, Click. There are two types of control sets: Brewery and Kitchen (top of screen) Farm and Garden (bottom…
