Lego Digital Designer 2.0.32 (Mac OS X)

Improved...

This version for Mac OS X is much improved over the previous version. It looks more Mac-like, though is still an obvious port of a windows xp program. Some nit-picks: While the floating palettes are a welcome (and overdue) update, they are not true to Mac interface guidelines in that their position is restricted to being inside the build window. As a result, if the palettes are at the edge of a large build window and you make the window smaller, the palettes stay within the frame of the window and get "covered-up" rather than floating above the window. The implementation of the brick palette also feels awkward and inconvenient. A tabbed or browser design alá Apple's iApps would have been better. Overall, this version of LDD is a better application than it predecessor, but is still not a true Mac OS X application. Nevertheless, recommended. [alert admin]

Edgies 0.9 Beta 9 (Mac OS X)

Very handy little app...

The developer has been very responsive to bug reports, too. The developer neglected to mention in the what's new section that a Preferences bug has been fixed and that he has added live updating on the tab and window transparency preference. Very cool! [alert admin]

Booxter 1.8 (Mac OS X)

I love this app...

I've been a registered user of Booxter since July of 04. This app keeps getting better and better. The developer has been and continues to be open and responsive to feature suggestions, and quickly addresses bug reports, which have been few from my experience. Highly recommended! [alert admin]

WeatherDock 2.2 (Mac OS X)

I love this app...

great interface, super information, easy to use, and now, its just indispensable, especially for my wife! But have to give it 4 stars (4.5 really) due to an apparent bug where weather info becomes inaccessible from the menubar (when only the menubar option is used). At first I thought the problem was related to the computer going to sleep, but now I just don' t know. Restarting the app clears things up. All in all, a wonderful and useful piece of software! NSSegmentedControlPalette 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Very Useful

Overall a very useful palette. For future: suggest that font size change when the control's size changes, e.g, when mini size is chosen font changes to Mini System Font. Thanks! [alert admin]

PlistEdit Pro 1.0 (Mac OS X)

What Apple's Plist Editor should have been...

This is a well conceived utility. All the editing functions I wished I had with Apple's editor are present. I especially like the "New Child of Type..." and "New Sibling of Type..." commands. A must have for developers (though perhaps better priced at $20). [alert admin]

iSMS 2.06 (Mac OS X)

Main window resize and Status window visibility

When resizing the main window some object do not hold their positions and are either cramped in the window space or move out of the window. I would also be nice if the visibility of status window could be toggled from a button on the main window OR allowed to be closed altogether (and not just minimized to the dock). Otherwise, this is very cool! [alert admin]

iCalibrate 1.2 (Mac OS X)

nice app...

Cool little app! What I would like to have as a feature is a way to change or add to the six colors available for the calendars. [alert admin]

Address Book vCard Creator 1.2.4 (Mac OS X)

Excellent little app.…

After exporting and formating my data from my old System 7-9 AddressBook (one of the last Classic apps I use) it worked like a charm. Much appreciated! [alert admin]
