How to deactivate the notifier function?

I liked the appetizer software. When I installed it a useful function called notifier was also installed. Notifier allows me to know when the person I send an e-mail to with Mail read my message. However I do not need to have this function active all the time. Would someone know how to deactivate it when I do not need it? Tks [alert admin]
