ShoveBox 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

iCal syncing?

Do you plan iCal syncing? Perhaps set in preferences - so I could see all my To Dos in iCal and in ShoveBox as well. I add To Do in Mail and see it in ShoveBox and vice versa. [alert admin]

PhotoToolCM 2.0 (Mac OS X)

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LEOPARD !!!

This plugin as well as other plugins from the Pixture Studio are not compatible with the Mac OS X Leopard. They work only on "Panther" and "Tiger". And the developer is gone missing... No answers to my multiple emails and questions when the plugins will be updated. I'm really sad that these EXCELLENT plugins can't be used anymore. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.4.0 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't work on 10.5.2

I updated iMac 24" (Core2Duo) to 10.5.2, then installed LCC 2.4, restarted iMac and... Mac stopped booting at the blue screen. Waited 10 minutes - no progress. Had to log in in Safe mode and remove all kext files from the System folder, then iMac could boot in normal mode. Please update this LCC so that it's 10.5.2 compatible! [alert admin]

Spark 3.0b4 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't work in Leopard...

The latest version 3.0b4 doesn't work with Mac OS X Leopard (default keyboard input is set to Latvian (Eastern European)). I use Command+Option+Ctrl+some_letter_key to launch applications. For example: Command+Option+Ctrl+a - Address Book Command+Option+Ctrl+i - iCal Command+Option+Ctrl+t - iTunes Command+Option+Ctrl+p - Pages, etc. In Leopard most of the letters with these 3 keys (Command+Option+Ctrl) don't work, I just get beep sound nad that's all. Any hope to get Spark working in Leopard? [alert admin]

LaunchBar 4.3.1 (Mac OS X)

THE BEST launch utility

LaunchBar is definately the best application launch utility. I've been switching to Butler and a few other launch utilities but have alsways come back to LaunchBar. Now the latest version is done so well that I een don't think I will try any other utility! I like ability to copy and paste contact info with one shortcut. This is amazingly nice feature! Just add Spark shortcut manager (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22675) and all your application launching needs are solved. Spark is good for creating shortcuts, like Ctrl+Option+Command+ the first letter of most often used applications. This way, I just press Ctrl+Option+Command+M to launch Mail, Ctrl+Option+Command+K to launch Keynote, Ctrl+Option+Command+P to launch Pages, etc. Or press Ctrl+ first letter of the folder name. Ctrl+D opens Desktop, Ctrl+Shift+D opens Documents folder, Ctrl+P opens Pictures folder, Ctrl+M opens Movies folder, Ctrl+Shift+M opens Music folder, etc. Both Spark and LaunchBar combined together solves all application launching and folder opening needs. Highly recommended! [alert admin]

Bible-Discovery 1.8 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Better use Accordance

Just one look at the screenshot image confirmed that this really is a *COMPLEX* Bible study tool. So better go www.accordancebible.com and get user-friendly Bible study tool instead. Accordance is The Best for Mac and it's Mac-only. [alert admin]

ClipDoubler 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Alternatives

PTHPasteboard 2.0 offers multiple clipboards and pasting with filters - you can add filters to paste plain text, or smarten quotation marks, or straighten them, remove double spaces, trim spaces from the beginning and end of the paragraph, replace characters, etc. You can assign your own shortcuts, edit right-click menu, etc. [alert admin]

Accordance 7.0.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

The Best Bible Software!

Accordance is the best Bible software I've every seen or tested. And I've seen Logos, BibleWorks, VerseSearch, etc. And, of course, this is native Mac application which alone makes it much better than any port or emulation. It's very easy to use, and what's most important for me - it combines everything into one single application, while in PC side of the fence one has to use several applications to get the same functionality. Version 6 was very stable, and v.7.0.2 also brings the same stability back. Thank you for such a wonderful program!!! I have to add that the pricing policy is also very good. You can start with the basic module and buy additional modules later to grow up your library, and they credit your money for the next update, so you have to pay only the difference. Thank you for this too! Without it, I wouldn't able to use all what I have now. And OakTee Software has excellent user support, too! (Thank you, Helen!) [alert admin]

No able to add a 'service' shortcut?

Why do you need shortcut when you can drag and drop file into Mail application icon in the Dock? Mail will open, new email message will be created and file will be attached to that email message. No need for shortcut.

upgrade path would be welcome

I don't agree. Look how much Microsoft is aking for their "upgrades"! I think that each program separately could easily cost $80-100. They are that good. And in the PC/Windows world they cost so much or even more.

Crashes immediately.

Please try to trash VLC preferences, then open VLC, DON'T change anything in its preferences, and try your DVD again. Does it still crash?

Compatability with OS 10.4.6 / 10.4.7?

In their forum they write that you should make clean OS X 10.4 install, not an upgrade. Upgrade somehow damages some access privileges, and in the result iData doesn't work. Try at least to fix access rights, if it doesn't help, do clean install.

Installation and setup overly complex.

"Installation and setup overly complex." Really? Installation is straight forward, as for any application which requires setup. Setup too comples? Not at all - you can customize as you want in Preferences. I think Accordance is very good because it allows yuo to set it the way YOU want it. Want verses in Bold? OK. Want underlined references? OK. Want KJV, NIV, Message and EBC side by side? No problems. Customize as you want it…

Installation and setup overly complex.

QuickVerse has too many windows and is too hierarchical to be useful. I find parallel alignment in Accordance much better organised for my workflow. Maybe you found it opposite because Accordance requires paradigm shift in the way how it interacts with the user. But once you learn it's basics, it's way better! :) I also downloaded QuickVerse some time ago, but afer having tried Accordance could not understand the reason why QuickVerse made Mac version... Anyway,…

Use right tools for your task!

Use right tools for your task! If you need to get rid of formatting, use Plain Clip (faceless) application - just copy text in the Clipboard, click on Plain Clip icon in the Dock, then paste Clipboard content (which now is plain text) in any other application. Or even better, download Spark keystroke application (Free), Plain Clip Plug (free), and configure both so that by pressing Command+Option+v or something similar, Spark would run Plain Clip…
