Notebook Math Two 3.0.6 (Mac OS X)
Level 1 included lots of X 0 problems and Level 2 leaped into higher multiples. My third grader could not benefit from this program. Idea is sound and the interface/functionality is wonderful but the progression is far too great. [alert admin]

LaCie SilverKeeper 1.1.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Does a great job - maybe better that CCC ![]()

I have both SilverKeeper and Carbon Copy Cloner. Maybe I don't understand CCC well, but I couldn't figure out how to only copy the files that were new or edited. Seems that CCC has to create a new disk image every time. Therefore the speed of back-ups is much faster with SilverKeeper. Perhaps CCC doesn't bill itself as a backup utility. Anyway...I really like SilverKeeper and consider it a top freeware program for those of us who do not want to loose that precious data. While the readme tells you about the need to restore permissions or run Disk First Aid, it would be better if the reminder was in the program's interface or better that it would initiate the programs itself on request. Thanks LaCie! [alert admin]

Meteorologist 1.4.4 (Mac OS X)
When 1.4.4 won't run on OS 10.2
The developer should be telling us this, but there is a separate version for 10.2. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/heat-meteo/Meteorologist_1.4.4_jaguar.dmg?download [alert admin]

Renamer4Mac 2.5 (Mac OS X)
Renamer4Mac is so helpful in renaming all those darn digital camera files. Forget logging what all those numbers refer to...just rename them by subject. I haven't figured out how to renumber files...say I took 100 photos and I chose to keep 50 of them. I rename them by subject ("Hannah's Birthday") but I'd also like to renumber them ("Hannah's Birthday01...02...03" instead of 01...04...09 caused by me deleting pictures). I don't see that this is possible? [alert admin]

Show Desktop 1.6.3 (Mac OS X)
I'm a big fan of keyboard combinations to quickly execute my needs. In switching to OS X, I grew tired of relearning or unlearning shortcuts and relied upon my OS 9 experience of shortcuts that still worked. A single click to get rid of desktop clutter is perfect for me. I have not been a total fan of the GUI changes OS X has brought my way. I think Apple is often pig-headed and stubborn. This product or a similar use should have been incorporated long ago. Thank you for a simple and easy way to "get the job done." [alert admin]

WeatherMenu 3.6 (Mac OS X)
Very cool with much more info than I expected. I especially like the availability of the non-home city forecast information. $5 is the right price for me! [alert admin]

Kimdom Come 2.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The programmer's goal is obvious and effective - educate. The game is fun enough for me and it is a bit strange playing the bad guy in real life. It is comic in animation and I like it for that. It is like a live cartoon editorial. Anybody what to be Saddam? Osama? Hope not. [alert admin]

I searched for hours to find this error 95 solution. Nobody's advice worked and after reading this, I tried some .dmg files on my hard drive and they mounted just fine. I was having problems with two shareware weather programs not being willing to mount. It doesn't seem to be common knowledge in light of the fact that it took so long for me to find someone with an answer. Greg 10.2.8 G3 400

Thank you for posting this tip. I hadn't heard of sword modules. BTW, I believe you me to add .swd instead of swd. . What I wasn't sure of is is it renamed Josephus.swd or Josephus.zip.swd and does it matter? So far just downloading Josephus is getting me anything. Perhaps a translation is needed first. Greg
