USB Overdrive 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

MX 518 ?

The info states MX 518 is specifically supported, yet I can't get it to find the 2 extra buttons - anything specific i should be doing? [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Wish I'd waited...

It's not often I feel compelled to add feedback to something - especially an operating system - but this has been the most awkward update since my initial shift from OS 9 to 10.0. It's not as though it doesn't work, it just breaks so many small things that I was used to, that it has become the least satisfying upgrade ever. It breaks so much, for so little reward, I'm exasperated. I see no improvement in the user experience, whatever has been tweaked under the hood. All I see is a reduction in my ease of use & a daily trawl through the web pages of all my app manufacturers, looking, wishing & hoping for a compatible update. Deeply miffed:-( [alert admin]

Does what it says on the tin...

Spot on. Downloaded, installed & configured in 5 minutes. What more can you ask? I'm no big ftp expert, so I needed something that would adequately hold my hand whilst I set it up, without letting the entire 'interweb' in through the back door of my computer. [alert admin]

DragThing 5.6.3 (Mac OS X)

10 years at Number 1...

I've only just realised that DragThing is over 10 years old! I've been using it since version 1 on System 7, & have had it on every machine I've ever come in contact with since - every friend, every colleague has had it put on their machine & come to love it. It is the single indispensable utility - an obvious tool that needed inventing. Fortunately, it was invented by someone who not only got it right the first time, but has kept improving it over the years. I don't think I've ever posted a review of it on here, so thought I should just add my voice to the crowd. Cheers, James - I'd say 'keep up the good work', but it's obvious you *are* doing just that:-) [alert admin]

GPSBabel 1.2.7 (Mac OS X)

The Tower still stands...

Before I'm supposed to be able to 'flatten' this Tower, anybody want to let me know what I'm supposed to do with the folder-full of itty-bitty files that's all I get when I download this thing? I'm supposed to build it myself? With what? Pass the trowel. This isn't a Mac OS X build, this is elite-ware for people who feel smug that they know all about unix. [alert admin]

Check Preferences...

Safari often reverts your prefs, check in Preferences/Auto-Fill to see whether 'User names & passwords' is still checked. Same goes for 'Show status Bar' in the View Menu.

Seems good but no O2 MMS in UK yet

Update was good for me - appeared to stumble but then all went OK. That was about 3pm UK. Around 6pm, got a text from 1010 (02) saying they were setting up my MMS, 1st pic arrived 30s later. All now working just fine & dandy;-)
