TM Error Logger 2.04 (Mac OS X)
I was curious about this utility and decided to give it a quick try out. However, it fell flat on its face before it even got started. I fired it up and got the following alert message:
"Unable to read system.log.
You must be logged in as an Admin to use TM Error Logger." [ OK ]
Click on [ OK ] and I'm straight back in the Finder.
My day-to-day account is a non-admin account - I spend the majority of my time in it. This error makes the utility un-useable.
In spite of using a non-admin account, I sometimes monitor TimeMachine's activity in Console, without problem. If what the previous comment says about this app simply reading the log file is true, then this would seem to be a nonsense.
Would somebody from Carnation Software care to comment?

Wedding Website Design Template PXL-02-02-01 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Additional Requirements:
The presented website templates were developed in compliance with web standards assigned by the W3C. The web page layouts can be edited and customized by using common web publishing tools such a Adobe GoLive, Adobe Dreamweaver or any other web, text or source code editor.
This is clearly not any sort of Mac software. In fact it's not even Mac specific. (Kinda makes it sound like spam, eh?)
Unquestionably, this should have been posted at www.templatetracker.com - not here.

FTP Commander 7.90 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I tried this today and found that the software has been upgraded from the currently listed version - v7.9 to v8. In the process, it has become shareware/commercial. As a basic FTP client, it seems okay. [alert admin]

FileUtilsCM 1.7.3 (Mac OS X)
Cool! :-) Seems to work fine with 10.5.2. I'm not sure if I missed it when I first installed it, or if it only appeared once I logged out and back in again. For the benefit of other new users, under 10.5 it shows up as follows: - right-click on a Finder file or folder - slide down to the "More" submenu at the bottom of the contextual menu - select the "File Utils" submenu - choose whichever option you require from the suite My one request to the developer to make this "perfect" would be to allow the user to choose the "Copy Path to Clipboard" path style at "run-time" - instead of having to set one option at a time through the preferences. Make them all available? But that's a minor-league irritation. Thanks Abracode! [alert admin]

OnyX 1.9.0b2 (Mac OS X)
Hello Developer I'm running 10.5.1 on an Intel iMac. Downloaded and installed Onyx - seemed to go okay. (Was a little nervous about having to run the installer, but since it seems to be just for an application that's dumped into /Applications - as opposed to any additional "hidden" stuff - I decided to proceed.) I subsequently launched the application ... and it hung. The toolbar from the top of the Onyx window was drawn, but not the lower, main part of the window. Additionally, "Finder" effectively remained the foreground application - the menu never changed to show Onyx's menu information. I had to Force Quit Onyx from the Dock. This repeated several times, so ended up trashing the app for now. Will watch out for the next release. [alert admin]

GoodVibrations.css 9/2007 (Mac OS X)
Strictly speaking, this is not an ad blocker, since the advert material is still downloaded. It's "simply" not displayed within the browser. Having said that, I tried it and found it seems to work very nicely. I've turned it back off for now, but will keep it on hand for, er, moments of desperation. :-) [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.0b1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using this for a couple of hours now and, so far, am very happy with it. Performance is fine. (Although I'm on a 1GB RAM Intel iMac, I never had any performance issues with the previous version. I'm managing servers remotely, not playing games...) As far as multiple connections is concerned, once you have connected, choose File > Save A Connection File and save the equivalent of a bookmark. Do this (once) for each machine to which you wish to connect. Thereafter, simply double-click the connection file in the Finder for each server and you will have multiple connections. DNS is set up on my machine so that I don't have to enter fully-qualified host names, so the long name issue commented on previously hasn't affected me. It's a beta, so I'm not going to complain about some rough edges. [alert admin]

Garmin WebUpdater 2.0.0.1 Beta (Mac OS X)
It's disgraceful how long Garmin have taken to get this far. Absolutely bl**dy disgraceful. Let me say also, that I'm sure it's not the developer(s) - it will have been some bean counter higher up in the company.
Right, having ranted, how about the software? I managed to successfully update a StreetPilot i3 from its shipping firmware 2.6 to the currently available 3.3. Everything seemed to go fine, taking about four or five minutes. The software seemed a little buggy around the edges, but this is the beta after all. It did the job it was supposed to do.
Right Garmin - now you're obviously starting to get the hang of this, can we please get a Points Of Interest uploader too?

I won't argue with your comment about radio static. However...
When someone who preys on suffers and says its "Cures" Tinnitus, is nothing but a bunch of BS.
The software is clearly called Tinnitus Tamer. Not Tinnitus Curer.

My previous comment related to installing the utility at work on my Tiger machine.
I have just installed it on my Leopard machine at home and it has "just worked". This was a clean install of Leopard and it had already detected my HP DeskJet 940C. I think I recall seeing that the iMac had previously set A4 as the system default, due to my initial installation options (UK specific).
Have you followed the steps…

Leopard - I just downloaded a stuffed file, double-clicked it... And it opened in TextEdit. Right clicking on the file, and I find that TextEdit is the only recognised option. I'd be happy ti use something built-in, but right now I'm downloading Stuffit Expander for the odd occasion I do require it.
