Mr. Tides X 3.0R8 (Mac OS X)
Mr. Tides 3 is a great move forward for an already excellent application. GPSNavX 4.60 and MacENC 5.10 support the new Mr. Tides 3. [control] click anywhere on the chart and select "Mr. Tides" from the context menu. In an instant Mr. Tides displays the tides and currents for where you clicked. [alert admin]

gpsdX 1.2 (Mac OS X)
This is a great idea allowing GPS to be shared among applications. In fact we do allow sharing of the GPS between our applications (GPSNavX and MacENC using Notifications), but the requirement for OS X 10.4 precludes us from using this solution. Many of our users are using slightly older Macs and must run OS X 10.3. Will consider incorporating for a future release of GPSNavX and MacENC. [alert admin]

artherstrasse, your comment is dead wrong.
GPSNavX does support transfer of waypoints, routes, tracks to/fro GPS receivers including Garmin Marine models (those that support NMEA data). GPSNavX can also import and export GPX format. This allows GPSNavX to work with LoadMyTracks which supports non marine models from Garmin. One does not need Windows on a PC. One can use GPSNavX to upload waypoints and routes to the GPS and then download the track from the GPS. …

In order to keep the download size manageable a smaller less detailed world chart is included. With the purchased version of GPSNavX a much more detailed world chart is included. That being said it would still not be recommended for navigation. Instead users can download much more detailed (i.e. large scale) marine charts for their area of interest as GPSNavX works with the standard Maptech format BSB raster charts. GPSNavX does…

Probably because you are using a version of OS X that is older than 10.4.5. LoadMyTracks appears to require OS X 10.4.5 or later.

The idea of the dynamic resizing is to create a display that can be seen at a distance. Basically virtual instrumentation. One cannot assume that the user will be right in front of the display. A very handy feature when using GPSUtility on a boat, car or plane.

minor ui issue, compass suggestion, review
The issues you note are more related to the Rayming TN-200, then GPSUtility which just repeats the NMEA data.
