MacFLAC 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)
The best player I've found for flac files is xmms, an open-source media player. You can easily get this with fink and run it through x11. Just be sure to install the flac plugin for xmms. Type "fink list xmms" in the terminal to see all the xmms related software available (assuming you have fink installed of course). [alert admin]

Meteorologist 1.2.9 (Mac OS X)
To those having problems with incorrect icons displaying, try deleting your preferences and using only the Wunderground service and NOT weather.com. [alert admin]

this little utility by word of mouth so I decided to try it out. Well, unlike what the instructions say, it didn't prompt me to select my news sources after installation. I had to log out and log back in and then select preferences to manually select the plugins to use. Once I had it working, I was impressed, and then it quit working again. I selected register and preferences from the popup menu and nothing happened. Finally after logging out and back in a few times it started to work again and has been working ever since. Unlike what some people state, I think an update is in order for full 10.2.3 compatibility. I dislike software that only works part of the time. [alert admin]

takes forever to startup. I'll stick with Netscape for now. [alert admin]

Fire 0.31.e (Mac OS X)
for me in 10.2.2. Seems to disconnect less often than Proteus and it's free. Proteus probably has a slightly better interface, but now that it's $10, Fire is the messenging app to have. [alert admin]

Netscape X 7.0 (Mac OS X)
completely redeemed themselves with version 7. I am not having the long startup times as described by others, and I have completely done away with IE. My main gripe is that it is not on par with the PC version as far as features are concerned. For instance, full page viewing doesn't work and the radio station access only works with pc's. Quake III Arena X 1.3.1b5 (Mac OS X)
OS X 10.2 for me. I'm getting around 100 fps. No crashes! [alert admin]

It's easy to tell the difference from CD to AAC (128kbps anyway) let alone encoding to AAC twice, trust me. BTW, why in the world would you want to decode from AAC just to reencode back to AAC???? Just to remove the DRM? That seems silly to me considering Apple's DRM is quite liberal as it is.
