Warrior Kings 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Very nice graphics at 32 bit. Realistic troop movement and control. Fluid and realistic battles. You have to route your troops, use tactics and terrain. Excellent view controls. You need at least a two button mouse with a scroll wheel/button. I used a Kensington Turbomouse Pro and it worked very well. Problems playing? If you can't figure this game out by reading the "Game Controls Manual.pdf" (in the downloaded installer folder), the tutorial and just by playing it, then you probably shouldn't be playing games like this anyway. If you like Myth and Warcraft, you'll like this elegant addition to the genre. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.0 (Mac OS X)
give this more stars, I would. In under 10 minutes, I had d/l'd iTunes 4 and QT 6.2, went to the store, found a few tunes and had them on my ipod. This will fundamentally change how music is sold and produced in this country. Artists will no longer be able to fill out CD's with fluff. The cost of an entire CD is two thirds roughly with this method. Great work Apple! [alert admin]

Apple AirPort Firmware 4.0.8 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
card is $99.00, same as AP Extreme. Their 802.11g router (without external antenna ports or a modem plug) isn't even available yet, but will probably be about $250.00 street price. The AP Extreme deluxe model (w/modem and antenna plugs) is the same price. The AP Extreme is available now. How is this a hosejob exactly? [alert admin]

Connectix Virtual PC 6.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
says it will. Upgraded no problem. Obviously from the posts here it's not for everyone. If you need to use a PC word processer or spread sheet for work, as I do, then VPC is the way to go. I can have a mac in an otherwise all PC office. In fact, I spend much more time keeping the "cheap" PCs in my office running and recovering data than I do with VPC! Buying a cheap PC for occasional use is bad advice IMHO. Just adds clutter, it'll break after a year and you've wasted your money. Minus one star for the upgrade price because as we all know software engineers are all born rich and work for free. [alert admin]

dotmac.info Sherlock Channel 1.1 (Mac OS X)
two stars for cleverness and good idea. However it couldn't find my .mac page in any search, so it's not quite as functional as it should be. [alert admin]

MOTU Digital Performer 3.1 (Mac OS 9)
is kind of sketchy as to what this update patch does, ie: classic support? A better question is: When is the promised version of OS X version coming out? [alert admin]

VueScan 7.5.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
about this software either doesn't know what he's doing or is just plain grumpy. This software has kept my ancient UMAX s6-e scsi alive for years past it's otherwise useless life. Well worth the $40.00 when you consider the cost of a new scanner. And Hamrick puts out updates, what, every 36 hours? You got a bug, you e-mail it and he fixes it instantly. I only wish Apple did that! [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.1.3 (Mac OS X)
says 10.1.4 is out, but the link is to this page for 10.1.3. Out or not? [alert admin]

VueScan 7.5.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
me in OSX for my UMAX S-6E (SCSI) which would be a chopping board if not for this software. Hamrick does seem to be a little obsessive with the updates, though. Maybe a twelve step for VT is indicated? [alert admin]
