Sound Studio 3.5.4 (Mac OS X)
The lack of release notes wasn't actually something we were aware of. We didn't even know VT had updated this entry until we went to update it ourselves today. VT scans previous software submissions' sites for updates constantly and updates the entries automatically really quickly, usually before we can get to it ourselves. When VT does it automatically, there are generally no release notes included. We'll be fixing the lack of notes for the new release after posting this comment. Apologies for any confusion it may have caused, guys. -- The Freeverse Team [alert admin]

Sound Studio 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)
We can't ship an MP3 encoder in the States due to licensing restrictions on the proprietary MP3 format. (It's patented by another company, and it's not cheap to license at all.) However, we can build the app against a Universal Binary LAME encoder, and as of 3.0.4, that's available for use. Please see http://www.freeverse.com/soundstudio/ for a Universal Binary LAME framework that is compatible with Sound Studio 3.0.4. This VT listing should be for 3.0.4 within the next few minutes. As for registration issues, we can't address the issue directly if we're unaware of it, I'm afraid. Please contact support (support@freeverse.com or just give us a call, we don't mind) so we can get your registration issue straightened out ASAP. It's usually not a difficult problem for us to resolve. [alert admin]

Sound Studio 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Most people agree that Sound Studio has always had the best, most elegant user interface. And while its hard to compete with "free" - we've always found the ease of use and stability of Sound Studio to be well worth the price, (which is why we've been using it for years to create sound-effects and record dialog for our games. We were customers long before we were publishers). This new version adds some important features, and we see it positioned for people who want something much easier to use and less expensive than a PEAK and a little more robust, supported and elegant than the other options. But by all means, use whatever works for you. (and buy the occasional game from Freeverse ;-) Best, -Colin [alert admin]

Hi Guys, Upgrade pricing IS available, (our website is just lagging behind our PR this morning as we integrate the old customer database). There's a 50% off upgrade available. Just send us your info via our support form: http://www.freeverse.com/support/form.php and we'll get back to you with a coupon code for the 50% discount. Best, -Colin [alert admin]

Kill Monty 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Kill Monty is based on KDC as the developer screen and credits show. It features much improved graphics, multiple room levels (vs 1), boss monsters (vs 1), enemies (vs 1). It also allows you to max out your weapons by grabbing multiples of the same power ups, plus keyboard control, improved audio, etc etc. At $12.95 Kill Monty is a great, and low cost(!) Original Mac Game. If you like it, buy it to support the author of KDC and everyone who worked on Kill Monty. - ian Freeverse [alert admin]

Big Bang Chess 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Hi all, Since Big Bang Chess 1.0 was released six months ago, we've been working very hard to improve it and think it's the best featured, most Mac OS X friendlly, easiest to network, master-level playing Chess game available. In addition to the tons of new features, it is now part of a suite of games "Big Bang Board Games" (including Backgammon, Chess, Reversi, Mancala and 4-in-a-row) that will be available in retail outlets for $24.95. See http://www.freeverse.com/bbbg/ for more information. All those games are yours for the one price. My apologies that Version Tracker doesn't track that above, I'll make sure to post it in the description in the future. We are a company, and that it is no longer "free" is pretty irrelivant; there was no promise or obligration. We released an early version to gather feedback and because we thought it was cool and stable enough that people would enjoy it. That version won't expire, so if you have it, nothing has changed. You're under no obligation and never were. Anyway, we are one of the very few Mac-first game companies, and Big Bang Chess is a Mac product-- not a port of some year old PC game. We're proud of it, proud it won two Apple Design Awards, and very happy to have worked hard expanding it to include a suite of games, and bringing it to you for under thirty bucks. Try it, buy it if you agree it's way cool. Please. :-) Thanks, Ian President, Freeverse. [alert admin]

WingNuts 1.3.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
There was a bug in 1.3 which would cause a crash, but only many levels into the game, and related not to any code-change but because we had the temerity to upgrade to the latest compiler. That's the reason for the 1.3.1 update! Sorry for any trouble and all should now be good. WINGNUTS REJOICE! - Freeverse [alert admin]

Hi! This is Brian from Freeverse. Sorry to hear that the game is not opening for you. This seems to be a rare situation, as the game runs fine on most Macs. Would you mind sending an email to our Support person, at support (at) freeverse.com? He can definitely go through some things to try in order to get the game running for you.

Broken for people with network accounts
The network volume problem is a known issue, and I'm happy to say that it is fixed in Lineform 1.2.2, which should be available very soon. We'll post it here to VT, and Lineform can also check for newer versions on its own with the "Check for Updates" command under the Lineform menu.
