Microsoft Office 2008 12.2.3 (Mac OS X)
The Office folder needs to be in the Applications Folder
I had it in the Applications folder, but in another folder where I keep all my word-processing applications and the updater couldn't find it. When I removed it from the secondary folder and placed in the top level of the Applications folder it updated fine. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2008 12.1.9 (Mac OS X)
It downloads, but then doesn't update Office. It just runs the software update again and downloads itself. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded it with software update and it wouldn't install. It restarts the computer and then stalls at the point where it's configuring the installation, requiring a hard restart. Apple seems to be following the Microsoft model of software updates that don't work. [alert admin]

Accordance 8.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Less than generous upgrade offer
Upgrade pricing ($39) applies only to those upgrading from version 7. For the rest of us, it's as if they don't know us. [alert admin]

Will MM work with Snow Leopard
I'm using it with Snow Leopard and it works fine except the recent applications don't appear. I particular like MaxMenus for launching programs as it appears instantly and displays the list of folders that I have in Applications folder. Other programs such as Butler displays them as a long list that disappears off the bottom of the page, making it much too unwieldy to use. I tried Bevy, but found the page of icons too hard…

I use MaxMenus as well. It's very unobtrusive yet has all my software one click away.

does not honor upgrade promise
And the beauty of the internet is that the evidence has all disappeared and we'll never know who's telling the truth.

Less than generous upgrade offer
And the Omnigroup charges the same upgrade price for Omnigraffle from version 1 to 5 as from version 4 to 5. I was considering upgrading from the rather clunky Accordance version 6 that I'm currently using, but don't feel it's worth $49. Your business model doesn't appear to place much value on rewarding customer loyalty. Rather than losing $10 by offering a discounted upgrade path, you'd apparently prefer to get $0 when customers choose not to…

Less than generous upgrade offer
Which is my precise point. If you have version 7, you pay $39. Everyone else pays full price -- $49. You may consider this "nominal" but I don't.

VersionTracker is the perfect place to comment on our likes and dislikes. Bug reports should go to the developer. Personally, I find the new colour scheme ugly -- it brings to mind the black crepe that Victorians favoured when they were in mourning. The functionality of the program is first rate, however.
