Microsoft Expression Media 1.0.9038.0 (Mac OS X)
One of the best programs for the Mac bought out and flushed by MS and Iview. I agree that trying to navigate those MS webpages is really just a form of torture that only the Vista/XP crowd seem to enjoy. IView is gone - I abandoned it as soon as I heard that MS was buying them. Never looked back either. They started to wreck it by adding elaborate imaging editing functions to a cataloguing program. Too bad because it was formerly a great program before the sell-out. I doubt it pulls in much money now but what would the formers care? [alert admin]

Google Earth 4.3.7191.6508 (Mac OS X)
Very slight interface improvement. Great program only marred by the lack of decent imagery in much of Canada. [alert admin]

Nikon Capture NX 1.3.3 (Mac OS X)
So Nikon's slopware still doesn't support Leopard. Instead of adding features Nikon GOYA and re-write this old dog. Start with applying Apple's interface white paper. Then abandon you localized byzantine updaters. The only company that actually punishes its customers. [alert admin]

Apple Aperture 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Numerous reports of Apple mailing out bad serials for the trial. Also be aware that iLife upgrade 8.2 is needed for "Aperture Issues". [alert admin]

Apple iWeb 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)
After coming from Golive which I found to be very annoying and unreliable bloatware the Mac product is far easier to use quickly. Biggest problem is not being able to handle multiple individual sites, for instance an internal and another external or two. When you save or "publish" you have to save everything. There are apps written to get around this but why did Apple software do this? I think Apple need to rethink there whole interface approach on all of their software suites. Biggest annoyance is the constant attempts to sell or link to .Mac. No no no. I want nothing to do with .Mac. There should be a checkbox: "remove all references to .Mac". [alert admin]

iSquint 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Worked extremely well until the latest Quicktime update 1/15/08 - I have sound but have lost video. [alert admin]

Equinox 6.4.1 (Mac OS X)
Version history at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/mpj-equinox/ Don't ask me why. Hard to believe this used to fit on a floppy. [alert admin]

Nikon Capture NX 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I agree. Nikon's continued attempts to milk photographers for software as well as equipment is wearing a bit thin. I'd rather just see them CO-OPERATE with other companies and put their efforts into plug-ins and such. BTW software that is $100 USD is $160 or more in Canada. I'd call that a rip off. [alert admin]

Nikon View 6.2.7 (Mac OS X)
Nikon need to configure ONE download site. I bet I've downloaded 1GB of useless "upgrades" because of localization and non-availability issues. Why is a Canadian download so different than a USA one? Why does a Canadian version show up 3 weels later than a worldwide one and then not instal? I bet I've wasted $50 of Nikon.ca's time on these PERPETUAL problems. AKA the company that can't shoot straight. [alert admin]

Video on my older converted files also doesn't work so it is Quicktime causing the problem, not an iSquint error.

Wish it would say what units are useable
I agree - I have complained to Garmin about their lack of interest in Mac as everyone should do. They promised compatability a few years ago and only brought out some lame software on the last day of the year. Lots of promises and announcements but no action. My next unit will likely be a Magellan not that they are any better.

Updates are usually found in his forums. Don't ask me why, it would save veryone a lot of time if was on the front page.

Looks a lot like System 7, eh? That's because it's been around that long. Windows need to be re-sizeable. Love this program but I agree it needs a re-work and a lower price.

A very fragmented user interface
Yes, looking at screenshots there is poor grapics and text handling. Almost looks Wintel in places. The Website is also clunky. Since I cannot buy the cables as well in Canada I'll have to pass on this one. And I really need GPS this year.

Glad to see the thumb go, it was as bad as the toe fungus commercials. Great app, use it every day. Now handles RAW so I can throw out another program I kept specifically for Raws. Used to be a fatal lockup on some RTFs. Will check the new version. 5 star app.
