SilverFast SE (Microtek) 6.4.4r6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
This came bundled with my Microtek i700 scanner and I like it way better than Microtek's software. The only thing it can't do is work with the scanner's buttons. Microtek's software felt too much like Windoze, but SilverFast has a much better interface, even with all the windows it gives you. The instructional videos are an appreciated bonus. [alert admin]

ForgetMeNot 3.0 (Mac OS X)
This is one of those pieces of software that should come included with Mac OS X. Since I installed this, I can't imagine living without it. Well I could, but I don't want to. If I didn't have this, many a web page would have been lost accidently, especially if I'm in private browsing mode. It's a simple piece of software, but it is indispensable. [alert admin]

PreDView 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I have been using PreDView for along time to review tapes from my camera. This application is a lot less taxing on the computer than other such applications (BTV Pro comes to mind, making my fans spin up to wind tunnel force.) I also enjoy the floating window and transparency options. It's useful to have all of those commands with keyboard shortcuts. The things I would like to see improved is a place to type in custom resolutions or an anamorphic widescreen option. Also better support for multiple monitor setups. Right now when I select the "Size of screen" option I get the window he size of my main screen, not my second screen. In all this is a great product because it isn't heavy on my system and it is free. It's probably one of the more useful freeware applications I have. [alert admin]

BTV Pro X 5.4.1 (Mac OS X)
As much as I like this program, I do want to say that while recording a time lapse of 4 days, this disabled my screensaver on my iMac G5 running Tiger. When I got back to my computer all the windows had burned in on my screen. Somebody owes me a new display. [alert admin]

IP Scanner 1.4 (Mac OS X)
This would do great as a widget for Tiger. It would let you see if other people are trying to use your internet for free at a glance at the dashboard. Great app! [alert admin]

BT Cam 0.8 (Mac OS X)
Great app, only it needs FireWire (iSight) camera support. I like the FTP uploading feature, but I can't find a cheap USB webcam to use. I have a FireWire cam, and if it were supported it would be perfect. [alert admin]

SiteCleaner 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)
I thought this would help me to get rid of orphaned files. It did almost exactly the opposite. I lost most of my files that were linked to, and it kept all the files that were not linked to. Now I have to try to rebuld my website... [alert admin]

SleepTight 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
This is one of those apps you (I) can't live without. My sister is envious of my eMac and is always trying to get on. I could start my screen saver and then push the power putton to make my computer go to sleep, but I usually forget to. With SleepTight, Shift+Command+S locks the screen saver and sleeps my computer. Its a PrefPane so it isn't intrusive like some others (secureSLEEP namley). Best part is...its FREE! [alert admin]

Tempest in a Teapot .001 (Mac OS X)
Sounds interesting but I can't download it. It says the .Mac account can't be found. [alert admin]

Cube May252003 (Mac OS X)
Looks cool, works well...untill I play for one minute. It crashes after only a minute of play! Whats up with that? If it didn't crash it would be cooler and I would most likley still have it. [alert admin]

It actually is very difficult to do it by zip code. The actual map images aren't named by zip, so the image for zip 19610 is http://image.weather.com/looper/archive/us_har_closeradar_large_usen/3L.jpg (us_har standing for Harrisburg, the closest radar tower to 19610) and for 14563 is http://image.weather.com/looper/archive/us_roc_closeradar_large_usen/3L.jpg (us_roc meaning Rochester) This is a lot more difficult to code than simple zip codes.
