PoddumFeeder 1.11 (Mac OS X)
Based on first experiences and the look of the program, I paid the shareware fee but I must say I'm regretting it now. The main problem this app suffers from is the fact that it downloads all of the mp3 files in the main thread, rendering the interface useless during that time. If you want to cancel or change an option, well you'll have to force quit the app first. I contacted support about this but got no reply. Other lesser problems: The only automatic interval is every hour. I'd like it to be every day. Every time it hits the automatic interval, it throws down an annoying sheet that causes its icon to bounce in the dock. If I want something to be automatic, then I don't want it to require my attention or interaction. Unfortunately I don't know of a better alternative. However a slim podcast manager would make a perfect Dashboard widget. Someone should do that! [alert admin]

Cube 1.01 (Mac OS X)
What a great widget idea! I love it even though I can't even solve one side. I'll keep practicing :-) One problem— after I "solve" it, the widget becomes unresponsive to all buttons. The only option at that point is to close it and reopen it again. [alert admin]

OSXplanet 0.85 (Mac OS X)
This is pretty rad, but is there anything you can do about the memory usage? Mine is currently taking 46 MB (RSIZE), which is 11 MB more than the Finder! I know you're drawing this big window, but that seems excessive and will slow down the average person's computer significantly. [alert admin]

Address550 0.3 (Mac OS X)
Unfortunately this app was not designed to scale with more than say…one duplicate contact. Thanks to a sync fiasco I have about 300 hundred dups (triplicates actually!). Eliminating them with this app would take years. [alert admin]

Graphviz 1.13 (Mac OS X)
This is an absolutely amazing implementation of the GraphViz open source software. I didn't know anything about it before I went searching for a way to jot down some ideas in the form of a digraph and stumbled upon it. I quickly learned the format of a .dot file then quickly had my own graphs in full view. Thank you! [alert admin]

OCala 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Oh yeah, it's free, but even so it's not worth the download time. [alert admin]

NewsLetter 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Looked easy, but the mail never made its way to the recipients. Tried many different times and the info from smtp server and authentication is verified correct. Oh well. [alert admin]

Curio 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
What a wonderful app! Unfortunately I'm spending more time playing with it than working on the actual project :-) One serious issue is the RAM allocation - I have a small (11 pages) Curio project open, and the app is taking 78 MB of real RAM. That's too much. I know this effort was a lot of work from a lot people (and it shows), but the price is too high. For every one person willing and able to spend $99, there are at least 4 others who would pay $25. You have to find that magic threshold, but $99 is not it. [alert admin]

xScope 1.0 (Mac OS X)
xScope is beautifully designed, intelligently implemented, fairly priced, and undoubtedly useful to anyone who works with graphics on a Mac. For a 1.0 release, this easily earns five stars from me, but what's a review without a wish list? - Consolidate the windows. xScope creates about 20 hidden windows, some of which are quite large (2000x2000 !). This results in the app taking up about 46MB of real RAM and means that I can't leave it open all the time. Try creating your windows as needed, not all at once, and no larger than my screen. - A cool thing for programmers would be to add a "Copy as NSColor declaration" to the Loupe menu which would copy text to the pasteboard based on the focused pixel. e.g. - [NSColor colorWithCalibratedRed:0.94 green:0.80 blue:0.48 alpha:1.0] Anyway, what a great addition to the Mac designer's toolbox. Thanks guys! [alert admin]

iPassepartout 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
...how "Walter Ross" has a history showing all five star reviews for Sophtobe's products (including multiple for this) and all one star reviews for their competitors. Guys, please. The ratings gouging that's occurring here is obvious and shameless. If you have a good product, the good reviews will come on their own. If you have to inflate your ratings with multiple false five star reviews then that only implies to us potential consumers that the product is of low quality and cannot stand on its own. I'm leaving a one star review just to offset Walter's double five star. And I'll not be coming back to this page, so don't bother trying to wage some sort of debate. [alert admin]
