Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
STILL NO ASSISTANCE FROM ASPYR ON KELLY SLATER UPDATE
ASPYR HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL WHATSOEVER IN CORRECTING THEIR SOFTWARE DESIGN OF KELLY SLATER FOR OSX. I E-MAILED WITH THE MOST RECENT SUGGESTION (ADJUST MY PROCESSOR SPEED TO HIGHEST) AND APP STILL QUIT AFETR SEVERAL WAVES. STARTS OUT "SEMI-FAST" WITH QUICKLOADING. HOWEVER AFTER THE THIRD WAVE, THE APP SLOWS DOWN TO A "TURTLE PACE", THEN QUITS ALTOGETHER. AM WORKING ON A MAC G5 1.8Ghz, DUAL PROCESSOR - MACHINE IS CAPABLE AND EXCEEDS THE GAME REQUIREMENTS/SPECS. I PURCHASED THE FULL BLOWN GAME AND HAVE DOWNLOADED THE UPGARDE JUST AS DIRECTED. NO IMPROVEMENT AT ALL. DONT BUY THE GAME FROM ASPYR YET - THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIGUIRED IT ALL OUT FOR OSX. SHOULD OF THOUGH, AFTER ALL IT IS ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR CONSUMER/RETAIL SALE. BACK TO THE ASPYR HELP DESK - MAYBE THIS TIME :-( [alert admin]

Have been trying to get ASPYR to assist me with the install and upgarde download for the Kelly Slater game since recently purchasing it from the company. At first install, the labelled registration/serial number was incorrect on the package. Called ASPYR on it with no assistanec whatsoever - they juts referred me to the upgrade download. Followed their instructions and downloaded, unstuffed the more recent application. The app worked, but not at all as expected. Very slow to load and the app will quit after only a few minutes of play (last count 3- waves ridden, then the surfer chosen doesnt just wipe out - the whole app quits. Let me preface this by saying, I am on a 1.8Ghz dual processor, MAC G5. This machine meets (and exceeds) all system requirements posted by ASPYR. Called ASPYR on this new issue - as of today (12/3/03) - no help whatsoever. Their rsponse was to say that the ASPYR Help Desk does not have a G% to "walk me through" the fix. They instead referred me to the Apple Support / Help desk!!!! I find this unacceptable and totally unprofessional. If ASPYR is manufacturing and selling games for OSX - they should have the machine capability at their Help Desk to provide customer assistance. The frustration level I am experiencing has not peaked yet - will give ASPYR one more chance to assist me with correcting and fixing the app so that I can doi what the software is intended I do - have fun and enjoy the game. Will update with further comments (hopefully positive ones on the behavlf of ASPYR). [alert admin]
