MacJournal 5.1 (Mac OS X)

MacJournal is Tops! and Dan is The Man!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and again, and again... MacJournal has no equal. Dan sets the standard in my book for understanding the needs of the consumer. If you don't own MacJournal, you are missing more than you can imagine. It is simply the best in its class. [alert admin]

Amigos Number Puzzles 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Down Right Excellent!!!!!

If you love number puzzles, you need this new app/game. I saw the new posting, downloaded it, installed it, and have not stopped using it all evening. The program is addicting! Of course, you have to enjoy number puzzles, in order to appreciate the quality of the developers work. The game installs perfectly, runs perfectly (I have not found a flaw yet in over 3 straight hours of playing), and in my opinion is worth the price they are asking. I recently purchased Hoyle Puzzle and Board Games 2008, specifically so I could have their number games, and was disappointed to find that they only provided Sudoku. This new Amigos Number Puzzles program is the solution I had been looking for. All-in-one so to speak. Try the demo, it runs very smooth, and I'll bet you end up buying the full version. Speed Download 5.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Speed Download is a "Must Have" for Mac users

This was the first add-on I purchased over a year ago when I bought my new MacBook Pro. I knew I needed a product similar to that which I used on my PC. I simply cannot imagine owning a Mac, and not owning Speed Download. If you have never tried it, do so, you will be glad you did. The software is not a memory hog, it is quick, it does what it claims (and more), and it is backed by a software company that understands customer support. Oh, one last thought... in my opinion, it is worth a heck of a lot more than 25 bucks. [alert admin]

BetterZip 1.7.1 (Mac OS X)

I switched to BetterZip

This is a great product. It is quick, and it does not suck up resources. I dumped stuffit for BetterZip, and my MBP handles compressed files more efficiently. Try it and you'll buy it. It's worth the small price for great results. [alert admin]

CosmoPod 2.4 (Mac OS X)

CosmoPod is awesome

I have owned CosmoPod for quite a while, and I must say with complete confidence... If you want the best video downloader, buy CosmoPod. I have tried almost everything available, and CosmoPod simply works best in every category. It's fast, the interface is easy to use, the software installs quickly and the developer stands behind the product second to none. [alert admin]

VMware Fusion 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)

Fusion Is The Solution

I said it before, and I need to say it again... Fusion is incredible! When I bought my MBPro in March 07, I had the store install Parallels, because the head geek told me it was the only way to go. NOT. I had more problems than before I dumped my PC. I switched to Fusion a very short time later, and have never looked back. Coming from 27 years of being a PC user, I know what to expect, and Fusion is the solution for Mac users in my book. This is not a sales pitch, just an honest opinion, based on experience. StoryMill 3.0.2 (Mac OS X)

The 3.0.2 final release is excellent

I reviewed StoryMill a few months ago, and it just got better! Below is the review I wrote for a number of Internet sites, as it is worth repeating... To make a potentially long-winded review short... If you want the best software tool in this category, buy StoryMill now, and don't look back! Nothing compares to the value of StoryMill. It is that good. I have beta-tested software for over 20 years, and can honestly say that StoryMill is as smooth, quick, and complete, as I have worked with over the years. Most importantly, it is very stable. The developer has gone through great lengths to create an incredible and powerful piece of software. I highly recommend all products from the developer (Mariner Software) to all of my friends and clients. Mariner understands the needs of the consumer and have an excellent customer service reputation. [alert admin]

StoryMill 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Give this a try, you won't be disappointed

StoryMill is well worth looking at, for authors of any level. The interface is easy to understand, and the features are very good for wannabe authors such as myself. I bought Avenir last year when I bought my Mac, and now that it is morphed into StoryMill, I like it even more. I have looked at, and tested, other apps, but none ran as quickly and effortlessly as StoryMill. The developer responds very quickly to problems and/or questions. For the record, I am also a registered user of MacJournal, another app from the same developer I cannot live without. These people know what their doing, as I am a difficult person to please. As I said earlier, give this a try, you won't be disappointed. [alert admin]

Blackjack Gold 1.2.9 (Mac OS X)

How unfortunate

I was looking forward to trying this on my MBP. It will not work. The error message says the architecture is not supported. The developer needs to make some adjustments quickly before someone else creates competition. [alert admin]

MacJournal 5.0.1b1 (Mac OS X)

The New v5 Is Better and More Powerful Than Ever

All I can say is WOW! The developer has put heart and soul into the quality and functions of this new version. Just for the record, I did ask to be a beta-tester on this new version, simply because I loved the version I was using , and I wanted to try to help make v5 as perfect as possible. That said... In my 20+ years of beta-testing for numerous companies, very few have responded to the needs and details, as they did with the new MacJournal v5. I am sure there will be a few tweaks here and there as more people use it, but overall, this is one of the best Mac Applications I have ever worked with. In my opinion, this is a "must try" for all Mac users. You have no idea what you are missing, if you don't give the new Macjournal a spin on your computer. The ginormous number of possibilities that this app is capable of fulfilling is unreal. [alert admin]
