Jin 2.14.1 (Mac OS X)
Jin works well with FICS. Sure, it could be a bit prettier but it does the job. I used Fixation for many years but the current version of Jin is nicer. [alert admin]

ChessGenius 2.3 (Palm OS)
Genius, Tiger, and Hiarcs may go on endlessly about which of them is stronger. However, unless you are an expert or better, you don't need to care. Open source Open Chess will give you a challenge AND has some nice features such as an opening trainer. My advice go with Open Chess. If you find you are too good for it try one of the others. Cyberduck 3.0b1 (Mac OS X)
Same problem with version 3--nothing works besides Check for Updates. Hey Developers, do you read this feedback? All my Internet and other apps work fine. So, what gives? [alert admin]

Cyberduck 2.8.4 (Mac OS X)
I downloaded the last 2 versions of CyberQuack and had the same problems with each: Installs and launches fine but is unusable on my PowerBook G4 with 10.4.11. Many of the menu items, including New Bookmark, are grayed out. Selecting "New Connection" or "New Browser" does nothing. even selecting "Preferences" results in no box! This is the most bizarre experience ever with a Mac app. So, I have been unable to give CB a try. What's worse is it will not quit. Has to be force quit every time. Any clues? [alert admin]

Xslimmer 1.5 (Mac OS X)
XSlimmer allows you to drag and drop folders and apps for slimming but does not do as thorough a job as Monolingual. This may have something to do with the blacklist but have never had a problem after running ML. So why pay for XS when you can get ML for free? [alert admin]

Owner 1.10 (Palm OS)
Does what it says but if you use KeyGuardTime, you can set "Owner Privacy" with name and phone number to display whenever the pda/phone is turned on. [alert admin]

Plaxo Toolbar 447 (Mac OS X)
Plaxo has got better over the past year or so. Has some nice features--integrates with Mail, allows you to turn off the warning when quiting, etc. However, it wont stay quit. Somehow, the cursed thing keeps relaunching and synching. I do not like apps that think they know better than me what I need/want. [alert admin]

Monolingual 1.3.7 (Mac OS X)
My version says 137 yet here it says 134. BTW, I had previously griped about the language selections not being retained. Turned out that Monolingual goes by what is specified in System Preferences [alert admin]

MenuShade 1.1 (Mac OS X)
i like this app especially the fake transparency. However, a number of times a day the menu gets messed up and I have to switch to MenuShade and uncheck and recheck "fake transparency". Pain in the butt. Please fix this and update. Thanks [alert admin]

I don't know about IMovie but it is Xslimmer that leaves lots of localization files untouched for no apparent reason. ML gets them all!

I emailed the developer with a bug report and he immediately responded with the recommendation that I try 2.1 beta. I did and the problems have disappeared.

There does seem to be an issue with pathnames. I found that TR would not run if I had it nested within more than two folders. Try installing it in your Applications folder--although one or two levels deeper should work, and try again.

Forgot to add that Poisoned also allows one to specify what category of file to look for. Come to think of it, maybe Poisoned is better.
